We came to visit family and this was the perfect place to spend the night but go to their house for gatherings. The ocean breeze and surf crashing was very calming. The walks along the cliffs were great.

Room size was small but I spent little time in the room with the exception of sleeping. Nice size deck to sit out on gave the room a little more space.

Easy check in. Good communication by host. I fealt very safe staying at this property. Nice private deck to sit out on expanded the space a bit to seem less cramped.

If I had to complain (which I don’t want to because it was amazing) I would say the room was a bit hot. While we could prop the door or use the fan that was provided, there were a few mosquitos that got in and the fan wasn’t very strong. Seriously though, that is what staying in Hawaii is like so no problem.

We loved the contactless check-in. We checked in around 9pm and it was very simple and a wonderful stay. Our host, Andy, made sure to send directions and was very helpful and quick to respond. We didn’t even run into the other guests while we stayed, it was perfect. We also LOVED the laundry area, well kept. Our room was so comfy and cozy for 2 people. It felt like we were at home. I can’t wait to book with them again.

We had a lovely welcome from Andy and the directions we were given were perfect . The apartment was spacious , very well equipped and spotlessly clean . The sound of the waves from the nearby seashore was amazing .The location was perfect for visiting the volcano national park and we recommend joining a trip to the summit of Mauna Kea . We would highly recommend choosing to stay here and do go and look at the beautiful sunrise at the point about 2 minutes walk away .

At first, I was surprised there was no A/C, but opening the windows/doors/etc. provided all the cooling we needed. Access to additional towels, washcloths would have been nice as my washcloth took on a musty smell the day after I used it. To be fair, I did not contact the proprietor to ask for an additional washcloth. It's not the property' fault, but we were surprised to find accommodations for food to be such a distance from the property.

The property was near the ocean and so we could hear the waves crashing. There was even a partial ocean view. Parking was easy, as was finding the property. The proprietor sent very timely and helpful messages about the room and things to do/see nearby.

The room was very small. It was definitely just a place to sleep, not to spend any time in. There was no TV (not a big deal for us since we had our laptops).

Location was good for exploring the east and south sides of Hawaii. It was a very short walk to a rocky point on the water which was breathtakingly beautiful. You could hear the ocean waves from the room, and had a peek-a-boo view from the lanai. It was clean and the bed was comfy. Refrigerator and microwave were appreciated. Accomodations were basic and functional. We discovered a wonderful place to eat 15 minutes away - Paleo's Bar and Grill. There are two. We went to the one in Orchidtown 3 times in a week. It was quite busy but the service was outstanding and the prices were very fair for excellent food.

There was nothing at all that disappointed us. Was a perfect stay.

Everything about our stay at Ocean Breeze was perfect. Andy was supper awesome to work with. He kept in touch with us to make sure we had everything we needed and to offer suggestions of places nearby to visit. My only regret was not having the time to meet him in person and thank him for the awesome stay. Our room was exceptionally clean and well lit, and being on the second floor we were able to leave the sliding door open to the deck all night so we could sleep to the sounds of nature. Likewise, I have never stayed in a place that was so quiet and peaceful before. There were several amenities that we would have loved to have been able to enjoy, however time constraints prevented us from being able to. I absolutely loved staying here and would highly recommend it, especially for folks wanting to get away from the business of town.

The lighting could be improved. There was one table lamp which was very dim, and an overheard light that was too bright. Perhaps an additional lamp?

Very clean room in a quiet, green residential community. Great location close to the coast. There was a microwave and fridge, which were appreciated. Lots of birds and birdsong. Owner gave very clear instructions over text.

Although clean, the room is small. The balcony helps. Plus we had a little trouble finding the address. A sign on the fence would have helped.

The owner is very earnest and accommodating. The property is clean, well maintained and very quiet. There is a spacious fenced yard with a shaded table for relaxing, plus a balcony off the room itself. They have a full coffee pot (Yea!), small fridge and microwave. There is no breakfast, but that isn't a problem for us. Best feature is the proximity to beautiful lava cliffs, just three blocks away. Gorgeous place to watch the waves and whales. One can walk further along that shore, or drive to a park. They give directions.

They have no air conditioning and no dishwasher. They did have floor fans that worked well.

We were close to the ocean, just a short walk. Very quiet there. They had lots of equipment to use. They had snorkeling stuff, beach chairs, umbrellas, and a cooler that we used. They also had a washer and dryer.

It was clean and I am pretty picky on cleanliness. The directions that Andy gave were easy to follow. There is a great balcony that has a peekaboo ocean view and it was great to sit out in the morning and have breakfast.

Maybe the room is smaller than expected but it was good enough for two people. No lobby nor people to talk.

No AC (standing fan available in the room) so it got a little hot at night which I imagine would be worse during the summer months. However, all windows have mosquito nets so that you can open the windows without having to worry about bugs! One thing to note - many points of interests and nice beaches are on the other side of the island, 2 - 2 1/2 drive away. Was not a problem for me at all and I loved driving all around the island to explore but just be aware!

The location is nice, ca. 20 min drive from Hilo airport and very close to the oceanfront in a residential area. The room was clean and comfy, nothing fancy but makes a great homebase for a stay of a few days. Fridge and microwave and the room, free parking out front and access to washing machine and dryer (incl. laundry detergent, fabric softener) free of charge which was great! I did not have to contact the host with any inquiries or concerns, but received several messages with info about the amenities and close-by points of interest during my stay which was appreciated. Recommended!
