Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaWhile we were aware that it was an old hotel when booking, we were surprised by how small and awkward the bathroom was. The ceiling was so low that you needed to contort to use toilet and shower. Since we appeared to be only guests for the 8 room building we were in, we were surprised the staff didn't offer us a better room on a lower floor. We didn't ask for new room, so I guess they assumed we were comfortable.
Location was amazing. Could walk anywhere in St Michael's easily. Good parking right near hotel. Comfy bed. Staff was pleasant.

United States of AmericaWhat was disappointing is that I am certain that the sheets had not been changed before I arrived. Also, there were two dead water bugs and a few living lady bugs in the room. It was not terrible, and I knew it would be rustic, but I would have expected the staff to remove dead bugs. I am pretty self-sufficient and therefore was able to take care of most things on my own, so this did not dampen my trip. I was there on my own, and the room was plenty big enough for one, but I do think it would be close quarters for another person. Also, according to the ghost tour I was on, I was staying in "the most haunted room in all of St. Michaels." That made me chuckle and I can assure you that no ghosts visited me during my stay!
Overall I had an excellent experience and love the charm of St. Michaels. The Old Brick Inn is divided into two separate locations approximately 1.5 blocks aways from each other. The main building (The Old Brick Inn) houses the reception and breakfast areas. I stayed in Kemp House. By nature, I am a "hotel person" and love the amenities of a luxury hotel, but this is not a town with many non-B&B options. That being said, I understood that I was staying in a B&B and my room was definitely more rustic than I anticipated, but the charm of St. Michael's made up for it. I stayed in mid-July, and a new cook had just started. She made very savory and hearty breakfasts that I definitely give a 5 out of 5. Other pros - the staff could not have been nicer (George, Jason, and Gloria were very accommodating and friendly; George even called me to confirm my reservation and give me the heads up about parking and how to register when I arrived); plus the shower power, comfort of the bed, clean towels, free parking, and working AC were all great. Both the Kemp House and the Old Brick Inn are central to everything in town and made it very easy to park and walk everywhere during my stay including shops, restaurants, the harbor for the sunset cruise, and the Maritime Museum to meet the ghost tour. I did read a few reviews about the price of the room - it is indeed costly, but consider the time of year you visit and that you are paying for location.

United States of AmericaOur room did not have its own thermostat so it was never really comfortable. We were lucky it wasn’t that hot. In the hot weather I’m guessing it would be really challenging. At 6AM the truck noise was really loud. I know they can’t do anything about it. We’d definitely stay there again but ask for a room off of the Main Street.
The location was fabulous because we could walk anywhere but our room faced the bust street and the traffic noise was terrible. The breakfast was delicious and so nicely presented! Bravo! Everyone was so kind and helpful and the place was immaculate!

United States of AmericaI would have given excellent ratings except for the road noise during sleeping hours. Our room was first floor in front and was large and lovely but I had trouble sleeping some nights. The hotel is on the main road that goes down the peninsula and trucks were going by as early as 3am. Wonderful otherwise.

United States of AmericaHonestly I feel there could have at least been a complimentary breakfast option ( danish/bagels and such ) for the price of the room- or at least a discount on the restaurant on site for inn guests.
The style of the facility was very cute and cozy. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The location was very good and in the heart of the town . We could walk everywhere.
