Bed was a little springy and not that comfortable. The carpet in the room was dirty and stained. One lamp was not plugged in. Plug was behind the bed but not very accessible.

Beach access was nice. It was great that they allowed pets.

The use of alcohol and drugs seemed regular for other guests. My family was accused of sneaking a dog in, although we booked with a dog, we sent a message letting them know we were traveling with a dog and got a response "thanks for letting us know".

I liked the location of the hotel. Stephanie was helpful in booking.

The bed was too soft and the headboard a bit noisy. Also, there was no remote control for the TV, so I didn't bother with it.

The staff was nice and efficient and the room was clean and pretty much what I expected.

Room 123 the door handle was broken and a hole in the wall behind it and the tv did not work so we had to move upstairs to 223 and we are older to walk those steps.

It was nothing great and needed more attention like every 20 minutes.

I read bad reviews about pet smells and rude staff, but we found it clean and the staff was very nice. The beach was fantastic. So clean and Lake Huron water was so perfect. Great for littles because it was only about 2 feet deep of soft sand for a good stretch from shore. Not many shells to find but lots of pretty rocks were picked up! Many beach grills to use and a few beach chairs. Great gazebo when it rained. Bring a sun umbrella and you will have a great beach day. There was no children's playground or beach toys that have been shown in some of the photos. Love that the hotel was dog friendly and contrary to reviews, our room did not show signs of pet smell or damage. The hotel was freshly painted and clean. The breakfast room staff was super nice and we tipped her. Air conditioning was nice since we are used to Oscoda cottages with no air, but our room didn't have a sink besides bathroom or a kitchenette, so those were trade offs. I do believe the hotel has them available though. No elevator. We brought our own bedding, but I always do when we stay in anything less than a 4 star. Mattress was my only true complaint. Very old and definitely in need of an upgrade. Amazing view from our room made up for the room smallness and the blah old bedding/absence of aesthetically pleasing bed decor (no bedskirt), ugly bed covers etc. Again this is expected and why I always bring my own. It’s a beach town! There were no bed bugs. Whoever said that was probably just trying to be mean. There is a medium fridge and small microwave. The fridge was pretty dinged up cosmetically, but worked fine. The microwave was fine and worked well. The room was small but it was very clean. A simple hotel, that with some amenity upgrades will be amazing. The pool was closed for repair. Shower curtain needed a bleaching, but I brought my bleach tablets after reading other reviews and I also had my thieves cleaner like I normally do!

The beach is so beautiful, we enjoyed the view and water so much. The pool was really cold and the hot tub wasn't working, it needed some repair. The staff at front desk and housekeeping were really great!

The rooms need to updated, door hinge was broken. Dog howling in room down the hall, and the hotel looks rundown.

The main part of the room was very nice but the bathroom was poorly lit and in fairly dilapidated condition. Leads me to believe that maybe they're in the process of updating the rooms. As well, though there was keycard entry, there was nothing really securing the latches into the frame and the chain latch was gone. There was a porch type swing in front of the pool area that was in very shody condition and being a big man it made me very hesitant to sit on it. The free breakfast was just ok...really just a continental breakfast.

The location is excellent and the outdoor areas are ok. For this place the saying is true...location, location, location. The staff was friendly and accommodating. There were grills to do your own barbecue or areas to setup your own grill and a few picnic tables. There were fire pits for having bonfires but they were in pretty rough condition and not secured anywhere.

The only thing I didn’t like was the hot tub. It was more of a disappointment because that’s what I look forward to the most as a mom. It wasn’t hot and could not find the button to turn the jets on.

The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful while I was traveling with kids and dogs. The reason I would come back is because they allow dogs. The pool water was very warm however the hot tub was not and never did find the button to turn the jets on. The beach was great and enjoyed a nice walk along the shore.
