Floors were a bit dirty. Facilities could be more ergonomic: More space for a change of clothes in the shower cubicles would go a long way.

Staff are very helpful and the location is close to transport and the convention center.

The ITH Pacific Tradewinds Hostel has no elevator on the 3rd and 4th floors. Still, the staff offered help to those guests with heavy luggage. The above is a minor con, given that climbing to the 4th floor (check-in) offers some chance for a healthy workout (unless there are accessibility issues).

The ITH Pacific Tradewinds Hostel is in Chinatown, an area well-served by public transportation. Chinatown is one of the cleanest parts of the city, and I was pleasantly surprised. The hostel is very close to several Asian restaurants. The hostel staff was exceptional in the way they interacted with the guests. The management organized fun activities for the guests every night (BBQ, trivia, etc.) and was a pleasure to deal with. The dorm rooms and the shared bathrooms are super clean and well-tended by the staff hourly. The hostel offers complimentary breakfast (eggs, pancakes, coffee, tea, etc.) and provides free ramen for lunch or dinner. They have a small yet well-organized kitchen and a fridge in the common area on the 4th floor. Wifi is free and fast. My dorm was on the 4th floor. The beds are very comfy, and the rooms are also super clean. Great place for solo travelers!

There was mold in the shower and the carpet (in the rooms and the stairs) need a deep clean for sure. It would be nice to have a shelf next to the bed to put things!

I think these things could be improved: 1. Maybe the breakfast could include diferent fruits (not only bananas) or maybe different type of breads 2. When I asked how to get in Yosemite by public transportation they didnt have any clue (I understand because 98% rent a car but I think that could be very helpful to know that info for people who are traveling by train and bus) 3. Since people are entering and leaving the room during the night, it would be a good idea to have something like a curtain in each bed to block the light a little bit (and also to have a small lamp could be useful). 4. Sometimes my key to enter the hostel didn't work properly. 5. There is nobody at the reception after midnight (one of the nights I was in the hostel someone arrived at 1.30 am and was knocking the door heavily, so heavy that he broke the ring bell....I am not sure if was someone who was sleeping at the hostel or just a crazy person) 6. There is no soap or shampoo in the showers so bring yours!

1. The location of the hostel is perfect and easy to take any transport or just walk. 2. Most of the staff members were kind (I have to say Margot is so amazing, kind and friendly person!!) 3. They helped me storing my luggage while I was in Yosemite. 4. They included the breakfast. 5. They have towels available. 6. The check out process was very easy. 7. They have activities for every day 8. In general I would say it is a nice hostel and I definitely recommend it

This place is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The location of the hostel is perfect and it’s in a nice and safe place. I would definitely be back to this place in the future.

The place has a bit of a musty smell It's a long flight of stairs but it makes for a good workout 8 people in a room so people can come in and out quite often and the luggage storage compartment makes a loud noise when shut, they provide earbuds if you want to use them

It's a bit of a climb to get to the hostel reception (4th floor) and rooms, esp if you have lots of luggage!

I loved my stay here! The hostel organises events frequently (board games, rooftop BBQ) and this helped to break the ice with other travellers, especially for me travelling solo. It felt like a tight-knit community. Staff are also very nice.
