To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

United States of AmericaThere was no AC at the living room and the third room. Fans were not enough, it was still very hot. The walk to the nearby beach is very steep. The beach is rocky, great for snorkeling but not for only swimming. One last thing, check out was at 10AM which was early for us and they did not approve to stay a bit longer.
The kitchen is well equipped. There were enough beds to accommodate a party of 6. It was great to have a lot of equipment for the beach.

United States of AmericaVacasa didn’t provide the lock box code so we had to call them when we got to the property. When we arrived, the condo was stifling hot despite 4 fans running. The third “bedroom” is a loft space with no air flow. It was still 80 degrees in the condo at 9pm forcing one member of our party to put a mattress on the floor of the upstairs bedroom. The two bedrooms have portable ACs that are duct taped to the windows. The whole space is small but especially the kitchen. The condo is outdated with obvious scratches and wear on the furniture. We stayed for one night but found much better accommodations close by for a similar price. Our local Vacasa agent was excellent in helping us get refunded.

United States of AmericaBest vacation yet. Worked around the mudslide closures. Got the Haena permits. Everyone in Kauai friendly. Beach below condo the best. Sunsets on patio unforgettable. Condo was perfect. Well equipped, clean, beautiful furnishings , a view that that is only in your dreams. 😃
