The hotel offers a stylish ambiance with friendly staff and in-room espresso machines, despite noise

The room was excessively noisy at night, and although earbuds were provided, they were not conducive to a comfortable sleep; additionally, the old elevator resulted in extended wait times for accessing the room.

The style of the hotel and room was really nice, featuring an espresso machine in the room, and the staff were friendly.

Awesome hotel, great diner and a wonderful room. Easily one of the best hotels in downtown San Diego. I would certainly come back to stay next time I am in town.

Elevator was dangerous and hard to operate, an unexplained destination fee added ($25/day plux tax) that gave us NOTHING extra (no breakfast, or even water in the room which btw costs $13!).

Room, restaurant on site, staff was nice

The nightclub noise. It is loud. Like really loud base till the wee hours of the morning 1-2 AM! (But I DID stay in the area of nightclubs, so I suppose that is to be expected. But I didn't process that till I got there. Bring your own earplugs if you are concerned...

clean, comfortable, location, bed was made daily in the evening!! Staff was amazing. Decor is great. Looks like you have stepped into a different era

Unexpected "destination fee" of $25 per day. No outside view from the room. It felt almost like being in a nice closet. The sofa-bed was awful. No help to set it up. The staff wouldn't even help to put the duvet cover. They just gave a set of linens in a plastic bag and pretty much said good luck. The elevator is horrendous. No phone charging near bed. Even with extension chord it wasn't possible.

Clean rooms. Excellent quality of linens, toiletries. Great shower.

The lifts are slow, but given they date back to 1913, that is understandable. Plus there are always the stairs as an alternative.

The hotel has a great location, the staff are friendly and helpful. I loved the design and decor. The cafe is excellent, great food and staff. The room was fabulous with comfortable furnishings and amazing linen.

Valet parking is very expensive. If you don't want to use it you need to use one of the public parking lots which are a bit remote from the hotel. Room was very small although I was traveling alone and it was not bothering me at all.

The interiors are were very well designed. The staff was very friendly and helpfull 24 hrs. Food in the restaurant was quite nice. Rooms are clean and well equipped.

Although the room was lovely it was lacking any drawer or counter space. There was room in the bedroom for a “comfy” chair and a dresser. The bathroom was huge, but again no space for any toiletries. There was not even a toilet lid.

The hotel and ambiance were lovely.

First room had problem with air conditioner. Reported the issue earlier right after check in and maintenance was supposed to have fixed it but it kept getting loud and waking us so ended up having to switch rooms late at night. Staff could have handled this better.

Boutique hotel with a vintage vibe. Great location for walking to gaslamp quarter. Nice rooftop bar area, shame its only serving on weekends. Had an issue with room but general manager made it right.
