Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaI stayed at the old apartments, and they are a bit updated, they have that 'vintage motel' feel.
The location is great, close to groceries stores, it is very walkable to Downtown and many restaurants. The rooms are fine, good for the price. The staff is nice and welcoming.

CanadaRoom was small
For a budget hotel it's good. Plenty of parking, fresh baked cookies and coffee every morning in lobby, bed was comfortable enough, clean facilities, neighborhood is beautiful, good proximity to 23rd, Burnside, and downtown.

CanadaThe Fitness room was very small with only three fitness machines, and it was dark and uninviting. My friend used it once and said not to bother. Instead we walked and walked and got our exercise outside.
Our room was on the small side for two people but fine - the beds were comfortable and the bathroom clean. The location was fantastic - within walking distance of the Pearl district and fun cafes, restaurants, the famous Powell bookstore and foodtrucks. We enjoyed exploring the neighbourhood and the owner gave us a number of recommendations for the Elephant Deli, Ken's Bakery Cafe and Kells Pub which all turned out to be great. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the complimentary coffee, tea, apples and freshly baked cookies were very nice touches.

United States of AmericaToilet flushes slow/clogs no matter what (which is a hilarious nightmare for a mixed group sharing a room). Stairs/no elevator- (my fault; I didn’t think of that ahead of time to request a lower level).
Location is fabulous-seemed like everything we wanted to do was very close in proximity! Nice city view. I loved the free parking (vs every other property near the downtown area charges crazy amounts for parking). It was just a little bit tight, but most of our stay was during the week so it was only a challenge on the weekend when it was busier. Right by Washington park (gorgeous, if you stay at this hotel make sure you check out the park or friendship garden or Arboretum!), downtown eats and shopping are about 5 mins or less down the road, about 30 minutes from Multnomah falls and other nature activities. We loved the elephant delicatessen nearby, could have eaten there daily.

AustraliaThere was nothing to complain about.
A clean, tidy, comfortable, well-appointed motel with a great location just far enough out of Portland's CBD, but near enough to easily stroll across Burnside to NW 23rd Ave., with its many shops and restaurants. The reception staff were friendly and accommodating, the available parking plentiful (with wonderful suggestions from the staff about secure motorcycle parking), and the city view from the two-storey motel annex across the street is an added bonus. This hotel/motel is very good value for money.

United States of AmericaI am writing to bring to your attention an issue we encountered during our recent stay at your establishment. Originally, our room was located on the first floor. However, due to significant noise disturbances caused by someone walking around the room above us, we found it difficult to get a restful night's sleep. The disturbances persisted until 4 am, disrupting our sleep and causing considerable discomfort. In light of this experience, we kindly request a room change to one located on the second floor. We believe that relocating to a higher floor will mitigate the impact of noise from neighboring rooms and provide a more peaceful environment for rest. Additionally, I would like to suggest the installation of carpeting on the second floor as a potential solution to minimize noise transmission between rooms.
The location was very good with free parking.

United States of AmericaThe fan in the bathroom was so loud they couldn’t use the phone at the same time it was on. The lightbulb was missing on the wall by the TV.
The front desk guy was so great. He moaned me a phone adapter and trusted that I would give it back. He said I could leave the car parked the next day so I can take a long walk. The alarm clock for 15 minutes off, so I was late for breakfast.
