The apathy of the staff. When we arrived, we had to wait five or more minutes for someone at reception. When he arrived he was very mopey and did not seem happy with his job. In the morning, the sign for breakfast stated it would be opened at 6:30. We opened the door to the breakfast room at 6:32 and the lady was grumbling saying I am not ready yet. We had to get to the the Alum trailhead for Mount Leconte by seven and acquire a parking space. Time was tight and we wound up getting the last parking space. The lady serving breakfast had a nasty attitude and mumbled the entire time we were eating breakfast. We were laughing as it was like watching a cartoon character.

It was a perfect location for our hike up to Mount Leconte. The air conditioning work perfect, the beds were very comfortable, and enjoyed the river. The breakfast was very good..

Needed different items as far as hot breakfast stayed for three mornings and had same breakfast. The bacon was unpasteurized well as the biscuits

Parking was very odd. All of the untreated wood allows for the large carpenter bees, so the patio was not usable while the sun was up.

Location was great. We were able to walk to the shops in Gatlinburg. The little patio was nice.

The traffic noise was a little loud if you are a light sleeper bring a noise machine or fan. The parking right up front was a little crazy however the lower level is fine, I didn't find it unsafe as some said. it was well lit and the elevator went right down to that level. The breakfast was just meh but it was good to get you through the morning for a light breakfast.

The view of the River was beautiful, it was nice to sit on the balcony and listen to the river (you don't really hear the traffic from the balcony). The hotel room was very clean and the nice to have maid service every day. It was within walking distance from downtown and if you didn't want to do the 15-minute walk the trolley stopped at the end of the property

If you don't like traffic noise, this might not be the place for you. It's right on the main road, but I don't mind the traffic. It was mostly on the weekend.

Loved the balcony and the view of the river! Liked the layout of the room! Parking was free and easy to find a spot!

The noise from the street at night was a little laugh if you have a problem to sleep.

The location was good. Walking distance to the Anakesta Park and the river view.

We were unable to sleep the second night due to a very rowdy bunch getting drunk and yelling and screaming until almost 4 in the morning. They were also throwing their beer cans in front of our rooms. it was extremely frustrating.

A man checked us in and was so rude and disrespectful. He SHOULD NOT be working at this hotel. He was so rude and was picking his nose on check in and flicking it. Made us feel extremely uncomfortable. Makes me think twice about booking again and recommending.

The pool area needs to be updated and a hot tub would be great

Loved the balcony and the sound of the river! Also the touches in the room like the wood and the great smoky mountains sign above the desk, the carved wooden bears throughout the property were wonderful!

We loved the room and the view of river from it !! It's right on the river and you can hear it flowing which is so soothing. The location is right at the heart of Gatlinburg which is a bonus. Moonshine coaster is just a stone's throw. We loved everything about this place.

I was only displeased with the breakfast. It is much better at the Holiday Inn and the Hampton. I was expecting possibly fresh bacon, scrambled eggs and fresh muffins. You only had omelettes with cheese in them. You had sandwiches that needed heating in a microwave.

Everything was very nice except for the breakfast.

No handicap parking. Elevator was rather small for anyone using a mobility scooter or wheel chair. Long walk to our room. Bathroom was very small, tub did have one grab bar that helped.

Liked balcony on the river, not large but had two very nice chairs. The room was large, and the bed was comfortable. My husband loved the coffee in the room. Breakfast was good. The lady running breakfast area was very nice, and did a great job keeping things filled.

Breakfast was good. The only complaint I have that it was noisy because of the traffic. I had brought a fan so that drowned out the sound. Was a great location. We walked all over Gatlinburg
