Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaIt is pricey.
This property is beautiful. Located in the heart of Chicago, very near everything I had planned including a walk through Millenium Park, Grant Park and up the coast to the Navy Pier. We also took the Red Line to a White Sox game, had dinner in the hotel. I joked that the pillows were "like butter"...you'd have to be a Billy Crystal fan to get that one. But really, everything was just top TOP notch.

United States of AmericaThe wifi was pretty slow. The elevators in the lobby go to different parts of the hotel and as we were with many family members all over, it was extremely difficult to get to each other's rooms, as our keys did not work in all elevators. We were on the 30th floor in the Tower and the windows are double paned, but it was still noisy with sirens or loud music below. We didn't hear ordinary traffic from that height. We didn't mind, but others might be awoken by the noise.
The Pendry was probably the most comfortable hotel I've ever stayed at. We certainly did not want to leave after our five days there. Our room was beautiful and very clean

CanadaThe sirens, from emergency vehicles, were frequent throughout both the day and night. We particularly did not appreciate hearing various cars ripping through the streets during the night. It warranted wearing ear plugs to get a "quieter" sleep. Aside, we would have liked to enjoy the rooftop area, but it was closed due to construction reopening in Summer 2024.
The location was fantastic. We paid for an upgrade and got a corner room on the 31st floor, overlooking the waterway. The staff were so accommodating and helpful. We were minutes from the Riverwalk, River North, and Streeterville areas where there were lots of shops and restaurants. It was easy to take transportation anywhere. Nice welcome drink! Thanks to Muriel for making us feel welcome!

Saudi ArabiaThe room was a little tight, but very comfortable.
Everything. I've never enjoyed a hotel stay as much as I did at Pendry. The location, the so attentive and kind staff, the interiors, the luxury feel, their complementary refresher by the front desk.

United States of AmericaThere wasn’t much I didn’t like about the property, with the exception of my room wasn’t cleaned one day and by the time we got back to our room housekeeping wasn’t available. We had left our room around 2:30 and I had texted that we were out of our room for the day and thought that was enough, but no one ever came and cleaned it. Other than that one day everything else was great.
The hotel was centrally located, very friendly staff and great amenities. Room was great as well.

The staff were amazing Nothing was too much trouble. The concierge (didn't get his name but long dark dreadlocks) was so helpful & accommodating! The barman remembered our order from 2 nights ago and when our luggage got taken up to our room, they offered additional robes, five suggestions of nearby chemists, grocery store & restaurants We felt very at home!

SingaporeHousekeeping is stingy with water. We consumed our water bottles when we checked in and right before we left for dinner. When we returned, there was no turndown and we didn't receive new water bottles. We requested for them, and were given 2. The next 2 nights, same thing happened (it's pretty obvious if the guests consume water, right? As the empty water bottles are in the bin already), and we had to call and request for more water in our room.
For fans of architecture, this is a wonderful find. Located in the historic Carbide & Carbon building with its gleaming exterior and champagne gold top. The indoors reflected a respect to the building's heritage, preserving the brass lifts and other areas, while infusing the space with contemporary touches like the furniture and art pieces. The rooms are large and comfortable. Also loved how pet-friendly the hotel is, and even includes a pet option in the in-room dining menu.

United KingdomI was given a third floor room, whereas my friends that I travelled with, were given rooms in much higher floors, that were much better than mine - we paid the same rate. I think for such luxury hotels, there should be a more even experience provided.
