Only minor inconvenience is the stairs if you have many trips to unload the car. If you have mobility issues, ask for ground floor.

Great location. About a 12 minute walk to the main street. Grocery store just down the street. Good view of the lake.

Everything was great except when we first got to the room, it was clean but there were towels left in the bathroom from previous guests which were obviously used. I did call about it to report it and they apologized and stated they could drop off more towels or we could get sone from the lobby, which we did. So, apart from that, no complaints. I do think an inside doormat should be added to all the rooms especially when snowing, just so we are not bringing in too much from outside. We put down a (used) towel though so no biggie. (We were not there for rentals and I think you have to light the fire pit yourself)

It's a really nice cute little place with amazing views, if you pick the room that states it has views, otherwise you will either see the parking lot or other buildings. We had lake and garden views and they were awesome! Beds are very comfortable, good amenities - we chose the kitchenette, so that helped too. It was a keyless entry but we had no problems with that and no staff on site, but again that didn't bother us and anything we needed was available in the lobby. Overall, a great stay!

Only that you're greeted by a particularly badly stained carpet but overall very clean and cosy. Bathroom was clean which is a must.

We were told we would have a kitchenette in our room, but it was just a refrigerator, coffee maker, and a sink. Not even a microwave at least. Also the heat is always constantly on even when it says it’s off. We had windows open all night and it still was very warm in the room.

The hotel is well located and the rooms are clean and comfortable. There is on site access to Lake Placid. The Placid Bay hotel had some of the beet pillows we've experienced at a hotel in all our years of travel.

With the little kitchen area and the king size bed, the room seemed crowded. Also, the lighting in the room could have been better. We never saw a person, and it’s fortunate we didn’t need any help.

We’ve stayed here several times over the years, but not since the new ownership and renovation. We love the location, on Lake Placid but a short walk to Main Street. There are still canoes and kayaks for use on the lake, and even more chairs as well as a fire pit (which was never lit while we were there, unfortunately). The room was clean and the linens and towels were very nice. Bathroom was well stocked with nice products.

The pillows were too big really uncomfortable! Walls wasn’t soundproof we could hear conversation from adjoining rooms really well.

We paid way too much money for what we got, due to it being high compression in town. The rug in our room was quite stained.

The room was very clean, equipped with a small kitchenette, king bed, table and chairs and a full bath. Also came equipped with local shamooo, conditioner and shower gel plus utensils, wine glasses, a refrigerator and microwave for heating up leftovers. We had the perfect view of Lake Placid and Whiteface mountain, with access to the pool, dock, paddle boards and kayaks.

The pool and outdoor facilities are amazing! Right on the lake, in a small bay, the view is incredible ! Perfect spot to enjoy the outdoor facilities !

The room needs better lighting other than two small lamps. And a full body mirror. Also our bathroom window was broken and wouldn’t lock.

Nice place with comfortable bed and great amount of space and privacy. Loved being able to take the canoe out! Nice check in area with water and snacks! Great time overall!

The room was not as the pictures on booking.com suggested. It was a lot smaller. Barely room to move around in let alone comfortably fit our luggage. Would much better suit one person rather than two.

The location and provided amenities were great. We used the kayaks, canoes and paddle boards. The views were amazing and loved reading on the dock. Location to town was perfect with just close yet also far enough to get a good walk in.
