It took them over 25 minutes to find out if a room was ready when I checked in.

I stay at the Pod frequently during the year as it is near family. The rates have climbed now as we are getting into the prime visitor season so of course I don't like to pay such more now for a room which is more basic but clean and quiet and centrally located.

The toilet in the shower doesn’t work. That space remains drenched and it’s unpleasant to use the toilet For the rest of the day.

The shower/toilet setup - it has translucent glass so you really get no privacy if you're sharing the room with someone else. I got some laundry done - they outsourced it to another company and it was very expensive. They could improve the rooms by installing some storage racks on the walls - there's minimal floor space and we had 2 suitcases and 2 backpacks and they took up most of the room

The hotel was affordable - for New York at least. The room was pretty small, but it was comfortable, well equipped and had everything we needed. The hotel is in a good location, close to the metro and a short walk to several good cafes and restaurants. If you're just looking for a place to sleep while you explore New York in the day, it's pretty much perfect.

Pillows are very bad, which is a shame since the bed is good for the value. Also very expensive for what it is but NYC prices have gone up quite a lot.

Nice location, in a dynamic neighbourhood with the subway quite close to the hotel. Rooms are small but functional, and the comfort is ok.

No drawers so a little tight with my suitcase on the floor. Strong smell of cleaning chemicals when I first came in.

That the rooftop bar is not yet open (still under construction - this was a bit deceiving from the pictures online. Weather was great and I would have loved to have enjoyed a cocktail there. That was the only reason for down grade to a score of 8.

It was comfortable for the small space. I liked the location, just a few blocks to the subway and a few blocks to Domino Sugar park. Very walkable area. Felt safe.

Nothing really! The size of room and toilet / shower combo takes a little while to get used to, but the near design of the room means there’s ample space to tuck cases etc

The location! Right in the heart of Williamsburg with its incredible restaurants, bars and music scene. The hotel room itself, though compact, was such a comfortable space with a really comfy bed and incredible view from the window. Considering how much cheaper it was than other hotels in the area we couldn’t believe our luck!

The location of the shower in the toilet. One has to wipe the water from the floor and toilet seat before one can use the toilet.

Room was tiny but functional for our needs. Because of limited space, only small carry on bags should be brought into the room.

The rooms could have benefitted from an extra square meter for a separated shower/toilet. But it’s super functional and everything is well thought through. Worth it for the price and central location.

The Pod is a perfect hotel for a week away. Though the rooms are small (double room), the bed was super comfortable and the room quiet. We loved the location, super easy to get anywhere (+ the ferry). The staff was helpful. There was an amazing offer of restaurant and coffees in the surrounding area. We would come here again !

The most perfect location, especially if you’re not looking to stay in Manhattan. The hotel is so well situated and has plenty of great bars, restaurants and shops within walking distance. Great links to the city with several subway stations also within walking distance. The staff are friendly and helpful and there is always someone on front desk. Will definitely be back again next time we’re in NYC!!
