Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Not a complaint, but an observation... there's no way those tiny shampoo bottles are enough for a double occupany room. Extra was requested and given (thanks again to Ben at the front desk).
Ben helped me tremendously by arranging an early check-in and a first floor room, both to make my 84 year old mother's stay a little easier. Also, the room and the bathroom were SPOTLESS. The proximity to Berea College was excellent, too.

Breakfast not much variety but adequate. Breakfast staff super.

The hot foods were not very hot. By the time we sat at our table, the food was cold.
Location was great. Breakfast was just ok. Staff was very kind, informative and attentive. Would definitely stay here again.

The restaurant next door closed at 8:00 (on a Saturday night!). Not the hotel's fault of course but we needed to drive into town (10 minutes) to get dinner.
We were looking for a hotel near I-75 to get some rest on our drive from Florida to Ontario. This fit our needs perfectly.

The breakfast room was very small
It was a clean, quiet, and comfortable room. The bed was very comfortable, and the linens and pillows were also of good quality. Good breakfast. Friendly staff.

Everything was great. The room was clean. The bed was very comfortable and the linens and pillows were also very good. Very Quiet. The Hotel is off of 1-75 but not so close that you could hear the highway. Good solid doors so no noise from the hallway.

there were some updates that could have improved rating - bathroom door was broken, hallway smelled musty.

I was very alarmed about what may have been going on in the room next to me. It started at 4:15 AM. My 44 year old daughter heard it too. We did not even know each other heard it until the morning around 8 when we started to check out. The ones next door cleared out before we did we r guessing about 6. we had both gone back to sleep. We r both very bothered about what we think was happening. I myself can’t believe I did not go knock on that door n find out for myself. I had my two grands ages 5/15 with me so I didn’t. I could be dead wrong but when my grown daughter said it to me first I highly think we were right. This hotel is located right off the freeway n a great spot for our suspected thoughts. Please check to see that all is well in the wee hours of your rooms. Anyone could have heard what was going on.

The people in the next room left the room every 15 minutes and let their door slam shut. They also felt the need to talk very loud. It was very hard to sleep and I generally like to get up at 5 am and leave by 5:30 am, which did not happen.
Well, I used to like the fact it was quiet.

Room initially smelled of smoke, likely from some one outside of building smoking near ventilation system. Not enough towels for only room updates every 3 days stay. Especially for women with long hair. Need cleared explanation that room keys will deprogram if left next to phones,
Room was on first floor, easy access, quiet, Easy upgrade to later check out. Staff assistance to reprogram room keys occurred quickly.

The TV wasn’t the best but we didn’t really mind. We couldn’t find the auto-off timer. The waffle maker temp needs to be turned up, or the length of cooking time needs to be extended. We were advised “the guy” had been there the previous day (I think she said), and extended the cooking time. I do t know about such devices…. Is it possible it wasn’t warmed up yet by the time we came for breakfast?
