Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Room was OK, a little basic & cheap looking. Clean but not a 3 star hotel as rated on Booking com. Receptionist was friendly but the clientele & surrounding was a little too trashy tbh

Property itself was very run down. My room however was very comfortable and super clean. The wallpapers were peeling off the walls in my room and you could tell it was lazily re modeled several times. Also, they claim to have “free breakfast” but all they had was toast and dry cereal. No milk, no juices, and coffee was gross.

The room we were originally put in seemed unclean; though it was relayed to us that it was due to a spray they used in the room since someone smoked in it previously. The woman at the desk was able to move us quickly.
The location was superb and the river looked very picturesque. The breakfast area attendant was amazing! He made sure to keep what they had stocked and was very helpful throughout the stay.

The room was very outdated. The wallpaper was stained and appeared dirty. The lamps were rusty. The bedcover was stained along with the mattress. The bathroom caulking was cracking and coming up. We were given 2 conditioners and no shampoo. The housekeeping staff was beating on the door and trying to open it at 9am. There was no placard to put out to say do not disturb.
The bed was comfortable and the front desk girl was accommodating with our late arrival.

there was black mold in the bathroom and the breakfast sucked. there were almost no options and the yogurt was expired. my friend had a different room than us and her fire alarm was hanging off the wall

The toilet was broken (we fixed it for you) and the bathroom paper hadn’t been replenished. The fridge was noisy and we had to turn it off at night.

I would have preferred healthier options to start the day: whole-grain bread, oatmeal, eggs, for example.
The breakfast offered few choices and there were no healthy options. We were there for 2 breakfasts. The first one had minimal fresh fruit.

I had to move to another room. I went to turn on the light and I got an electrical shock from the lamp. I call the front desk and told them the situation. She quickly got me into another room. The breakfast was poor, there were only some fruit (Oranges), waffles and some cereal. They ran out of milk, I only got a little that was left, just enough to wet the cereal. The lady behind me ate her cereal dry. Did not seem like anyone had checked on the breakfast area for a while.
The location was nice, being so close to the river and downtown. Within walking distance.

Dirty Doors not working AC not working in halls Run down Bugs/bees flying inside Desk attendant didn’t speak very good English Would not give me a receipt said “it’s ok ma’am” when I asked for one. Wanted to charge me an additional 150 dollars for incidentals that was not noted in my booking Not in the best location
