Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

The man they call Andy literally attacked me when my service animal got out of the truck without his vest on after a 5 1/2 hour trip from Las Vegas to relieve himself. He would not give me an opportunity to even say one word, rather he yelled over top of me. When I arrived, I gave him my animals, identification and information. I do 36,000+ miles in the air every year and 28,000 miles via truck. I stay in many hotels and fly many airplanes and never had an incident until this individual went ballistic. My best friend went ballistic when she found out about this. He has broken at least four federal laws and she has filed a claim as well as I have with the ADA. I don’t know what this gentleman‘s issue was but when you start calling your customers names, and pretending you know what you’re talking about without any information or fax, you’re not working in a place you should be. My service animal has four certifications and cost over $12,000 for myself, Linda Piper and the Clearwater kennel club to train. Apparently this man, Andy knows much more than animal trainers and that none of my dogs certifications are valid.

United States of AmericaI was followed when I checked in by a gentleman on a bike, to the back lot. It was him and maybe 2 other cars back there besides myself. He stayed in the back lot and watched which room I went in and it didn't seem like he had any other reason to be back there. I did not enjoy that.
Breakfast was great, having someone facilitate breakfast instead of it being a free for all made things way easier. I was initially concerned with the back parking lot and safety knowing I'd be returning to my room late at night but it was really well lit.

United States of AmericaThe Quality Inn in Escondido, California has got to be the most disappointing and disgusting hotel experience of my adult life. My wife and I traveled with our two young children to Escondido for a college graduation and since we are on a budget swhen we saw the attractive photographs provided by this hotel on Booking.com as well as the price range that was within our budget, we didn’t think twice. Upon arrival, we realized this hotel is situated in a very poverty stricken area of Escondido. There are homeless encampments surrounding the area and the entire building, except for one parking lot entrance, is surrounded by 12 foot tall chain-link fencing. (Presumably to keep said homeless persons from using their property to camp out on.) The parking lot itself is riddled with so many potholes one cannot easily maneuver around them and end up having to just go through them. The front desk attendant did his job in a sufficient manner upon check in. Once we entered the room, we were immediately hit with a horde of gnats and the room air not only was stale and stagnant, but had an offputting aroma that we could not quite identify. One of the main attractions for us in the photographs was that the rooms did not have old, dirty carpet, instead they had hard floors. We assumed that would mean the floors were clean, however once our children removed their shoes, the bottoms of their feet were blackened with filth from the floors in short order. As I walked around the room and inspected for safety, I found not one but two black widow spiders in the corners of the room that I had to dispatch myself. At that point, I was ready to ask for a cancellation due to what I was initially seeing in the room as far as the quality. Unfortunately, it did not get better and progressed downhill for the rest of our stay. Once we attempted to use the sink and toilet in our room we realized they were not in working order.
It was in Escondido.

United States of AmericaSink was leaking. Asked to repair and they wanted to send me away because there were no more rooms. It was 6:30 pm already. So they got someone to repair while I was at dinner. When I came back my door had been left open. There were several men drinking in the parking lot too and reving up their trucks at 11 pm. They are very tight with their breakfast too and this is not advertised.
