We recently had a family vacation to Quiet Mind Retreat in Julian, California, and it was incredible! We were searching for a quiet and calm getaway with my husband, our two kids, and myself, and this property surpassed our expectations. The retreat is located on Lake Cuyamaca and offers breathtaking views of the lake and the mountains in the area. Our spacious suite, which had all the conveniences we required for a peaceful stay, was ideal for our family of four. Our children loved the hot tub and the pool table room, and we really appreciated using the gym. The yoga and meditation classes for families that were provided at the retreat were one of the highlights of our stay.This was such a wholesome and connected experience for our family and we actually plan to do daily yoga as a family going forward! The staff even organized a picnic for my daughters birthday and she was simply delighted to have a birthday cake and lunch and her own suprise picnic by the lake! This place is a haven of Tranquillity. The room was very spacious enough for 3 and the staff was very accommodating to all our needs without being intrusive. The meals were healthy and delicious. We enjoyed the peaceful views. This indeed was good for our souls.

The hallways echoed a bit, so you can hear everyone walking by at night, but it was a small bother, nothing to keep me from returning

The meditation floor.

I saw this hotel passing by Cuyamaca Lake often and typically I would stay in Julian. Exteriorly, the building looks somewhat worn, red rustic. Interiorly it is very clean and decorated as if you are in a Tibetan monastery. The meditation room reminds me of going into a Buddhist temple with many statues of Buddha. No incense. It is a multi-purpose room, for meditation, and slow/quiet work out. Or even prayer. I practiced Tai Chi there with plenty of space to move.

Unfortunately our shower only had warm water both days of using it. It wasn’t so cold that you couldn’t shower, however it wasn’t hot enough to take a relaxing shower. The walls are very thin. You can hear doors opening and closing, people talking and walking in the hall, but despite that we slept great since no one is really roaming the halls past 9pm. The “filtered” water that was in the kitchen had a really off taste to it. I’m not a picky water drinker, but I really couldn’t drink the water. I reached out to concierge to purchase a large perrier water from the room service list, however they were out. Next time I’d just be sure to bring my own jug of water for the stay.

The property was at a great location and stunning views. The staff was kind and very attentive.

Telescope didn't work.

The hospitality from Sarah and Reyna makes you feel at home. Both are very attentive to your needs and sweet about it. Place is neatly organized it felt clean and safe.

The property is in a truly stunning setting, overlooking Lake Cuyamaca. The interior is very meditative, I spent part of my evening in the meditation room.

I loved every second of my stay at Quiet Mind Mountain Lodge! The staff were all so kind and attentive. Sarah especially was so nice and helpful with all of the questions I had. The lodge itself was beautiful and the common area has this amazing view overlooking the lake! I would recommend for anyone looking for some peace and quiet. Perfect spot to recharge!

Everything was great!

We came so my wife could witness a morning with falling snow for the first time. She is a native of Cabo San Lucas. We were not disappointed. There is a good sized balcony with a beautiful view of the lake and mountains. Snow began to fall about 8 as we drank some coffee. There was a comfy couch facing the view. The heating system worked perfectly keeping the room warm. The bathroom had a jacuzzi tub. I like those because I don’t like to breathe the clorine fumes. Everything was clean. The bed was very comfortable. Awesome place to stay! Thanks to Sarah at the front desk! Also the lady that takes care of the breakfast bar!

Waze had incorrect driving directions. Not the place’s fault but might need to pint this out to new guests. Waze has you turn on the street immediately before Engineer’s Rd. very confusing especially if the weather is nasty.

The only thing was we were hearing some sounds at night when we were trying to sleep. We weren't sure if it was the plumbing/pipes or the heating system. But everything else was perfect.

The location was beautiful and peaceful. The breakfast was so simple and perfect with the gorgeous view. The staff was very friendly and approachable, which we appreciated a lot.
