Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The only thing that wasn't top notch was the AC. We were a little warm at night, but it wasn't too bad. That is the only thing that could have been a little better.
The staff here is amazing! Very friendly and helpful! We had a one bedroom with 3 adult females and 2 children and it was plenty of room! The room was clean and had enough space for us. We loved it!

The beds were very hard, so unfortunately our sleep wasn’t amazing. Is also a bit loud at night from outside, but that’s expected given the location.
Great location for our first visit to NYC So close to everything we wanted to do, and an easy subway ride to the further things. Having a kitchenette was a great convenience with kids.

Our last night was exceptionally noisy and with thin windows it kept us awake most of the night but it was only the one night.
The location was perfect for everything we needed to do.

Initially, the room smelled strongly of cleaning products, but we were able to air it out because the bathroom window opened and the air conditioner worked well. The street can be quite noisy and the decor is a little tired. Also, the cost went up significantly from the initial price that prompted me to book this hotel-approximately $900 CAD difference. Perhaps this was due to higher taxes or currency exchange rates. An unwelcome surprise in any case. Finally, it seems that the phone didn’t work.
We really appreciated the kitchen facilities, including a full gas range and refrigerator/freezer which allowed us to cook our own breakfast and a few other meals. The location is great, close to Rockefeller Centre, Times Square, and subway stops.

The accomodation is very well located. We were able to sleep 5 people comfortably. A good sized bathroom with plenty of towels. The small kitchenette was well stocked and a really convenient option. The room was clean and (notwithstanding this is New Yprk) relatively quiet. It was great to have helpful staff on site.

Aircon was a bit old but it worked. Just noisy and couldn't really direct air easily but it's a minor issue.
Great to have a well equipped kitchen as Manhattan is expensive! Awesome location with a subway 1 minute away and just a few minutes walk to Broadway and Times Sq. Really helpful staff. Clean and tidy and really quite spacious. We'd definitely stay again.

Right next to Time Square but on a quieter street so wasn't noisy. Friendly reception staff. Was clean and had everything we needed for a family of four. Would definitely recommend. Toasties next door for breakfast was good too.

It’s in the heart of the city so there is city noise. It didn’t bother me but not a place for the noise sensitive. I rated it high for value, but due to the optimal location it is just as expensive as other properties in the area.
Very clean, so nice to have a kitchen with a stove and full size refrigerator. Bed was comfortable. Room small but well organized and updated. The location is first rate for theater goers, also a hub for subways and buses to explore other places. Staff were very pleasant.
