Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Our room was right opposite the gym and the very near the lift. We had flown in from New Zealand and driven here / instead of staying right in Malibu so that it would be quiet. We were awake all night with the female basket ballers making noise coming and going. ☹️
Large room, great bath and comfortable bed!

TV didn’t work. Had to call Maintenance to fix. It happened again the next morning. Could not connect my iPhone to the internet. My Mac connection was intermittent. Room Service dinner was delicious, prompt and affordable priced. There were no menus in the room. I had to walk down to the front desk to get a menu.
Room was a nice size , clean and nicely furnished. Room service food was delicious. Prices for room and food were surprisingly good.

My room was at the end of the hall near the stairs and it was loud. The hotel is old, it needs an update. My room number didn't even have a plate, just a piece of plastic with stickers for the number. There was duct tape holding two sections of carpet together. I also used the hand towel to dry my face after washing it. In the morning I woke up with skin irritation. Could have been from the towel or the pillow, perhaps the detergent the hotel uses could have been the issue.
The staff was very friendly, the room itself was really nice. Although the location of the closet and the bathroom was a little awkward.

No dislikes at all!
Very conveniently located on our way to various destinations in the area. Also pleased they were able to provide our room several hours earlier than we had originally expected. Happy with that special service.

The fact that the management DID NOT respond about the refund for 1 night, when the fire alarms rang quite a few hours in one night around 3 am and I couldn't not sleep anymore. The receptionist mentioned that the refund is approved for that night, but then they said NO. Disappointed

We were upset, that we needed to inform the staff to clean our room. We were informed on this at 21:00, after we had come back from spending the day out. Very disappointing.

there was a weird stain on the bathroom faucet and when I ordered room service the utensils did not look very clean.

Rooms were a little older than expected. Bathroom was in need of upgrade.
The breakfast was good but when I booked the room through booking.com it was shown as included. However, when I received the confirmation, I didn't look at the details and it showed breakfast not included, THIS COST AN ADDITIONAL $68!

I did not receive room service so if I needed more towels I guess I would have had to go to the front desk. If the hotel would have told me about this that would have been appreciated. I was not able to stop the air conditioner and the fridge did not work correctly.
The location was perfect for my vacation. The room was recently updated and the bed was very comfortable.

Rooms basic but clean. No complementary breakfast or onsite lunch service but other options within a few miles. Only way to get hot tea was to go to lobby before 9:00 am. (no microwave). Initially charged credit card $75 above agreed room rate in anticipation of incidentals? Front desk said they would adjust billing after checkout. One of 2 elevators out of service all weekend.
Location was beautiful and convenient. Private brunch buffet onsite was delicious, great service and very pleasant out in the patio.
