To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaMy only complaint would be no mini fridge or microwave. It’s very inconvenient when you’re out of town to go to a restaurant, have leftovers and cannot eat them later on. Also unable to have any cold bottled water in room.
The property was in a great location, of stores and restaurants in walking distance, modern room, and restaurant with live music some nights was very nice.

We loved the history of the Harlem Renaissance. The hotel was gorgeous. Bed was very comfy. Room had a great view. Bar and restaurant were really lovely.

United States of AmericaI would’ve appreciated a small refrigerator for medications; asked for it at check in; received it the next day. I was on the 18th floor, which minimized street noise, and posed no problem for me. I suspect it could be problematic for lower floors.
The staff members were professional, responsive and friendly. Room was comfortable and I had a nice view. It was an excellent value. Had breakfast twice (using the free vouchers); food was quite good.

Canada#1. Don’t promise benefits you don’t have. We DID NOT RECEIVE THE FOLLOWING promised bonus: - Uptown Hop Off / Hop On – NYC Top View Tours for 2 people (one time during stay) - Museum of the City of New York + Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum tickets for 2 people (one time during stay). We asked about it twice and we’re told they were negotiating for these benefits but didn’t have them yet. #2. Cleaners did not put towels and coffee in the room everyday. They removed all used towels but didn’t replace them or the coffee service so everyday we had to call and have them delivered. #3. Restaurant/ Bar needs to communicate its hours of service. Put it in the advertised information and inform the Front desk. The front desk thought it was open till midnight but most often it closed by 11:30PM.
This is a new well located hotel with a nice lobby and dining/bar area. There are restaurants, Whole Foods and the subway within a five minute walk. The rooms are spacious rooms with nice bathrooms, comfortable beds and linens.

I loved that the property is dedicated to the Harlem Renaissance. I’m a social person when I travel so I love that the locals patronize the restaurant and have a good time.
