Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

front desk lady on phone short and unfriendly the wood is old in the room (1608) looks very worn the pillows could be more comfy the curtains could be thicker for the times square lights the restaurant closed for private function when we wanted to enjoy it

The hotel bar was changing licenses and as a result there was no alcohol available for the duration of our stay. I would've liked to have known this prior to leaving the UK. It stopped us spending more time (and money) in the hotel and stopped us eating in the restaurant in the evening, along with many others - the restaurant was very quiet whilst we were there. Aware this was a temporary issue though and wouldn't put me off staying again, just thought the hotel lacked communication.
The hotel is in an amazing position. The restaurant actually overlooks Times Square. The rooms were a decent size and were fairly well equipped. Tea and coffee making facilities were a bonus and there isn't an extra charge for these. The beds were comfortable. We requested extra pillows and they arrived swiftly. The staff were very accommodating. I would stay again.

We were not notified that hotel currently has no bar license. With kids who wanted to veg out in their room by 10pm we had no opportunity to socialize ourselves. Staff waived the destination fee as a result though which was nice of them.
Location was excellent. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. Staff were helpful.

It was such a pity that we were only told when we arrived that the hotel didn't have the license to sell alcohol, we should have been made aware of this prior to our arrival. The price of the hotel was quite expensive and yet you had to pay addition 30 each day for food credit etc. Breakfast was extremely poor and options changed from the weekends to the mid week days (less during the week and no table service) the 30 dollars a day was pointless and you should really just include breakfast and make it easier for people staying. The main bar area with the view was closed off during the day and opened in the mornings. No free drinking water in rooms, over 6 dollars for a small bottle of water, make sure to buy your water etc elsewhere and store in the fridge.
Location of the hotel was fantastic, right beside the subway and Times Square. The room itself was very clean and comfy. The bathroom was spacious and a brilliant shower. The room cleaning service was excellent.

The FIRE ALARM Announcator/horn, not the smoke/CO detector, on one night started to make a loud clicking noice. We were unable to sleep through it, we had to get engineering up to hear & shut it off. We were told later that it was happening in one other room on the 21st floor. I asked if they found out what it was to a staff engineer the next afternoon. He did not know anything about it and asked me to send him the video I had of the problem. I'm a retire fire captain. Lounge: very limited lunch menu. Biggest fault was no Luxardo cherries for our manhattan's. Your high end hotel and lounge should not lower yourself to a club/bar. This caused us to seek out and have our afternoon and evening drinks and would be meals else where. It was about a $500.00 lose from us during our stay!
room 2110, very clear, good view (not of Time Square, but), settee was good, but a small table and two soft chairs would have been better.

The check in staff did provide information in regards to room amenities like wifi. Also I request ahead of time before our arrival for pull over bed but still not avail when I checked in and still not provided after My friends and I came back from dinner and I ended up cancelling it.
Excellent location. It is near to a lot of attractions in New York.

price was too high there no space even for Taxi to drop you and your luggage breakfast is not that good you also have to pay deposit and they said it will be in your card within few days
good location in the center at times square but if you don't like to be in the middle of the crowd try other locations do not think to have a car because of the parking price was too high staff were helpful

Outside of the hotel is the stop for the Big Bus, this makes the entrance very crowded.
The size of the room is great! The bed is very comfortable and the staff very nice.

Joined room next to us was noisy at times. I understand this was not the hotels fault, however in would liked to have known I was going to be next to a joined or be moved to one that did not. Either way, the stay was great and I really appreciate everything! Thank you very much!
Everything was great with our stay overall! Staff and services were spot on! The gal who cleaned our room was awesome and very sweet to myself and my girlfriend!
