To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaI booked this hotel for our trip to the Houston Zoo Lights and wanted a property with an indoor pool. Although there was an indoor pool, it was quite cold and not heated. Not a big deal, we just didn’t swim long.
This property was clean and well kept. The staff was friendly and accommodating (seeking answers for questions and engaging in conversations with my children). Breakfast was delicious and had lots of savory options, not just a fruit and pastry.

We had fantastic all-around experience staying here. We flew into HOU (only a 15 minute ride) and arrived several hours before check-in. Ana at the front desk had exceptional customer service, and was able to check us into a room immediately, of which we were so grateful. The facility was clean and well-maintained. The room was gorgeous- spacious, wonderful kitchen area, 2 comfortable queen beds, and a great shower….not to mention the amazing view of the city. The lobby was inviting, with the breakfast/dining area attached. The included breakfast was awesome, as there was a wide array of options and there was something for everyone. My kids especially enjoyed the Texas shaped Belgian waffles. The staff member working in the breakfast area was very kind and did a fantastic job of keeping everything well-stocked and tidy. They also had additional amenities including a pool and fitness center which were added perks. All of the front desk employees were hospitable and the cleaning staff did impeccable work. At other hotels, I’m usually grossed out by finding some weird crumb or dust bunny left over in the corner of our room- and I can happily say that each nook and cranny was accounted for by their thorough cleaning. The location was perfect as there are several stores and restaurants within walking distance, and a grocery store across the street -with two other grocery store options close by as well. We were easily able to walk to our venue at NRG park. They also have a shuttle service that will bring you anywhere within a 2 mile radius of the hotel… We didn’t use this but it’s nice that they have that as an option. If you drive there, parking is only $7 per night. So overall, I truly couldn’t be more impressed with our hotel experience and would highly recommend this Residence Inn.
