Very pleasant room for our stay before a cruise. The location was close to the cruise port. The staff was exceptional.

I booked on booking.com and was not told there was a non-refundable pet fee. When checking in, I was charged an additional $100 for two 10lb dogs (NOT OKAY). However, the hotel staff was willing to refund the pet fee happily when asked. In addition, the cost of the hotel was $291 with service fees etc., but when my husband checked the mil price he normally gets it was under $200 for the night.

The hotel and room were terrific! Great location if you are looking to stay downtown Norfolk although it's several blocks from the waterfront.

The pool was surprisingly closed without explanation. the breakfast was fine but the coffee at the breakfast and in the rooms was very poor in caliber and we are coffee drinkers. also, the sofa needed to be replaced..it was unusable.

The location was very convenient for the museums and restaurants. The parking garage was easy to access and inexpensive. Norfolk is a lovely, clean and safe city to visit.

Wifi was extra and it made it hard to work. And parking was not included either. Also, breakfast timing was not communicated correctly. It almost closed when we arrived

Parking. They need to take more pride in the outside of the building..it was dirty and weeds everywhere. Not a good first impression.

I had signed up for 2 queen beds and when I arrived got a room with a King size bed. The pullout couch was very difficult to set up (initially I thought it was broken). I don’t know if that was a Booking.com error or hotel error. Also, there was no hair dryer in the room and no regular coffee when we went down for breakfast. A little disappointing for the money that we spent.

The lobby/dinning areas are inviting and comfortable .

Disappointed with lack of towels. We had 5 family members staying and only received 2 towels. When we asked for more towels - we were provided with more. Also there were no towels at the pool.

Our room was spacious but the carpet was dated. The sofa and chairs were all too low to the ground which made it difficult to get up and down from them. The cushions of the sofa sunk down into the frame so it was not very comfortable. My chief complaint was the description of its location. A fifteen minute walk to the waterfront was not what we were expecting after reading the description of its location online. We thought we would be a block or two away at the most. The bathroom floor was treacherous after using the shower. There was nothing to prevent water from pooling on the floor which in turn made it very slippery.

The lobby was very inviting and the staff was friendly and courteous. The buffet breakfast was adequate but I'm not sure it was worth the additional cost.

I didn’t like that there weren’t any carts to move our belongings from the car to the room, Also as we were walking thu the lobby to the elevators, We noticed that the furniture that was so attractive at one time was so dirty. One of the reasons i travel from the Hampton area where my friends seek hotels to Norfolk to the Residence inn  is because of how Beautiful and well maintained it use to be. Also in my room the very in the bedroom had black soot or something blown on the ceiling in front of it. And the toilet kept running at times when it was flushed. Lastly the mini market near the front desk was out of everything. I hope this helps to bringing that wonderful hotel back to form. Starting with that eye sore walking thu the lobby looking at dirty furniture. It’s not a good look for The Marriott 

I normally stay here when i attend the Hampton Jazz Fest at the end of June, The staff were great as usual and the hotel was clean

There is no daily housekeeping. The parking garage said that the hotel validated the parking, but that wasn't true. Parking should be included with your stay. I have never paid for parking and I travel a lot!

Staff was exceptional all the way around. Great attention to detail and always bending over backwards to make things perfect for our stay. Will spread the word and certainly stay here again.

Room smelled like cigarettes! Lots of things didn't work in our room..lights, the water temperature got cold quickly, the TV didn't work.

Staff was super nice & helpful! The beds were comfortable! Room was very clean minus the smell but the rest of the hotel smelled amazing! The lobby is beautiful and smells/looks very clean at all times!

Location was excellent! We were able to walk to everything we wanted to see - USS Wisconsin, Chrysler Art Museum, waterfront and plenty of good restaurants. Beds were comfortable, facility was clean.

the only thing I’d change is that the TVs in the rooms are very out of date and couldn’t run our Apple TV programs or fire stick and I think the pool and Hot tub should be open a little later

I came on a weekend so there was tons of street parking but the agent tried to get me to pay 13 bucks across the street. I left a expensive tooth brush and cologne on day of check out. I was in the area til almost 5 so a call should have been made that items were found in the room.

Check in was easy and staff was pleasant.

While everything was clean the cleaning crew accidentally missed cleaning under the sink in our room. This was dealt with immediately by the front desk staff who was appalled, but took care of it.

Breakfast was fresh and the area was clean. The room was spacious and the front desk clerk was kind. She helped tremendously when there was a small hiccup in our room. The GM even called the following day and apologized.

Well, w had the handicap accessible room. We didn't need it nor request it, but it could have been all they had left regarding what we had booked..not sure. Now, I admit that was a little irritating bc the shower was not a regular tub and shower (understandably bc it's for special assistance or needs) so it was walk-in. But water was flowing all on the floor...before I even used it. That was kind of messy and the shower curtain was drawn. All of this was noticed BEFORE I started my shower. The small piece that was a "barrier" to keep the water "in" was honestly useless. It was not sturdy...and it could honestly make someone fall. I just used a VERY large towel (the full bath towel) to keep the floor neat/dry before I started my shower. The hotel didn't seem slammed or packed bc breakfast in the morning was a breeze (I went like 7:30am or 7:45ish (it's only 2hrs now) That was my main gripe, was the way the shower was set up. I'll make sure I say respectfully no handicap accessible room please.

The Front Desk Receptionist/Guest Services was very polite and helpful when we checked in Saturday evening. Our room was clean. The breakfast that Sunday morning overall was pretty good. Also when we checked out (Late Sunday Morning) the Front Desk was very helpful also.
