Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Need a mirror in the bedroom
There wasn't breakfast. I thought it sat back further off the road. I don't like being that close to the road for the noise. I liked the mattress and the updated room decor. IT was very clean.

I did not have trouble with them, but the stairs were a bit steep for my mother who is 86. Other than that, there were no issues that were not handled promptly and effectively by the property manager.
This place was EXTREMELY convenient to Young Harris College, our ultimate destination. The rooms are very nice with plenty of room and NO CARPET!!! I cannot STAND carpet! SO relieved to have floors that don't hold odor or trash from previous users.

They didn’t have enough chairs in my room. Only had one. The beds were broken down on he edge from people sitting on the edge in the past. That is where we sat onsite.

The parking was tough with a motorcycle. The noise from the road was very loud even with the door closed. You could hear everything going on in the room next door. Ear plugs are a must.
Clean and well appointed rooms. The decorating was very nice. The platform bed was very comfortable, what kind of mattress is that? I want one!

The outside was a little run down but I think they are doing room improvements 1st. There was no staff, which I wish someone was at the property because there were 2 young kids run up and down the deck on the second floor until after 10pm. I don't mind kids playing but they were very loud and their parents didn't care. I wish they had on site laundry and maybe some food.
The bed was so comfortable. It was clean and fresh on the inside.

Lot's a traffic at times on Main Street.....
Did not know there was a breakfast- I did visit the coffee shop next door very convenient. I loved the room decor and layout it was brand new and gave a mountain cabin feel !!

Only negative: A full length mirror on the side of the closet would be nice. All females(3), are trying to get ready with a small mirror in the bathroom.🙄
Code sent b4 we arrived. Easy ck. In & out. Very clean. Beds were comfortable. Lot of space, wasn't bumping into each other.

I loved the ease of checking in online and getting the code sent right to my phone, no contact with anyone. Also the security of the building made us feel super safe. There was outdoor cameras as well as motion lights outside our room. 12 out of 10 stars! Highly recommend and looking forward to our next visit!

A very minor thing - we were given three coffee pods when two people were staying for two nights.
Our room at Retreat on the Lake was absolutely perfect. The room was large, the beds very comfortable, and the bathroom facilities were great. We were surprised how quiet the road was. The location is perfect - just across from places like Tilted Cafe and Ingles Market, with lots of other amenities nearby too. We spoke with Chris on the phone as we hadn't received our door details (due to me having an international phone) and he was lovely - polite and helpful.

A little unusual check-in process - everything is done online or via phone. Then you are told what room and lock combination.

Stairs to second floor, they are grandfathered in but odd angle for me hard on knees

I definitely didnt like how hot the room got at 2am at 70 took over an hour for the temperature to get to 68 degree. Woke up at 6:30am and the power in the room went out… Overall we had a great time
