Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United Kingdom-Originally booked to be in main building but were moved to the side building. Which wouldn’t of been an issue but when booking we selected a room, so perhaps this system needs changed. -Being moved meant we asked to park in the secondary parking lot, even though the hotel was not full. To park the car there was difficult due to the entrance being a narrow steep hill. -The only place in the US we were asked for 2 forms of ID, and were required to be over 21 years old, this wasn’t stated when booking. Although not a problem for us, not every adult tourist will be over 21.
-Coffee in the morning & water refill stations were useful -Decent sized room with fridge and microwave -Good central location

United States of AmericaWe were in the front room and there was a rocking chair right outside our window. People would forget that we were inces away from their conversations! The road noise was pretty loud in our room. Our friends said that the people over their heads were extremely loud and kept them up.
The Inn is gorgeous and has a ton of personality. It's location is awesome. It's right between the downtown and the boardwalk/beach. Everything was walking distance. Despite what people said about parking, it was easy if you have a regular sized car. SUVs may be more difficult to park, but sedans are easy. I loved the lobby area. It was a nice place to hang out. I also would have loved the front area with outside seating if it weren't for the dumping rain! We had both the downstairs rooms, which were very spacious. Our friends were able to get their fireplace working, which was really nice, but we weren't. We also didn't get a chance to ask for help. :)

United States of AmericaNothing really (although being tall it took a hit or two to remind me to duck in one spot in the room.
Room 10 was an attic type room and very special. It was well-equipped and quiet. They had free softdrinks, ice, coffee all available. My wife loved it.

United States of AmericaThe cleaning staff did a beautiful job in the shared areas and the beautiful staircase. In our toilet area however, there was dried on fine droplets of something with a slight orange cast(almost like vomit splashed up?) all over the inside of the pocket door and on the base boards too. Kind of a gross over sight. The inside of the tub didn't look super clean either. The rest of the room and the bed seemed clean. Otherwise, while it was a nice room and a charming Victorian house, it was sad that they ripped out most of the original charm (besides the front door, main staircase and stained glass windows, which were gorgeous). Everything else had been “updated” to cookie cutter, so called modern hotel style decor. I guess that’s just a personal preference though :/
Complimentary coffee/tea/drinks set up in the foyer was a nice touch and the staff at the front desk was very helpful in suggesting restaurants nearby

United States of America-Back parking lot and driveway/ramp was too small and difficult to get in and out of unless other cars were absent. Even difficult for compact cars. Best to have guidance from passenger. -The pillows weren't the greatest, but didn't stop us from getting a decent night's sleep.
-Location close by to many places/attractions in Santa Cruz -Staff was incredibly friendly, accommodating, and helpful -Room was very clean -Outdoor lounge area was pleasant and relaxing

United States of AmericaStreet noise and noise from other occupants every time they ran water or flushed the toilet. This is an old victorian so not much to be done about it. If you are bothered by these things it is probably better to find more traditional accommodations.
