Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

We did not like the hot tub could only be used by 2 adults if the lifeguard was inside & not at the outside pool!

Noise from halls and adjacent rooms. The bathroom doors are not "soft close" and the first night it seemed my neighbors were in and out of the bathroom banging the door about every 15 minutes. On the plus side, noises calmed down by 10:30-11pm. One of the elevator towers was not working. I have stayed at the Inn before but it didn't feel so run down as it seemed this time around. Maybe I was staying in an older wing? or maybe it was that I had a double queen instead of a single king room? The price of hotels these days. (The price of this Inn was comparable to similar quality hotels in the area)
Bed was comfortable. Selection of pillows. Refrigerator and coffee maker in room. The window had sheers plus blackout curtains that covered the window well with no gaps to let in street lights.

coffee/tea/ hot chocolate in the lobby would have been nice
good and reasonable breakfast menu. Generous portions. spacious room, comfortable bed. Quiet and efficient heating/cooling system with state of the art thermostat. Location nearby the entrance ramp to the thruway. Friendly and helpful front desk staff.

Bathroom was tiny, old, and not updated. Atmosphere was weird. Not like a regular hotel. Staff wasn't super professional and knowledgeable. Small parking lot. Exterior looked unkeot and old.The furniture was worn and outdated. Curtains were too small for window. No blackout curtains.

The elevators were a little scary.

Restaurant and lounge were only open on certain days. Breakfast was more like a cafeteria.
Lobbie was big and had a walled fireplace. A glassed in area off to the right of the fireplace had lots of pamphlets of things to do in the surrounding area. Room had 2 beds and had coffee and tea in room. Nice big window. The decor was dark, brown carpet, dark bed spread, beige walls. Lounge was closed when we were there and only open certain days. Friendly staff at check in, pool area had a friendly lifeguard on duty and there was also a sauna. It was a bit out of the town, but not a problem if you have a car. They might have had a shuttle into town.

The 1am fire alarm thursday night was not enjoyable. And then again on Saturday night at 9pm. We could smell pot in the hallway when we exited the building. Otherwise it was an enjoyable stay
The room was great. We had breakfast at Petals restaurant. It was lovely. Excellent food and service!

The room smelled like smoke and was very dim lighting. The dryers in the laundry room took several cycles to dry a small load of laundry.
The restaurant was great for breakfast and the beds were very comfortable.

Tv wasn’t working and wasn’t fixed even when I repeatedly called the front desk.

The room is very, very clean, but it is beginning to show its age and it’s a bit dated. I stayed on the 4th floor. I understand that the 5th floor is renovated. I feel that all of the rooms could use a renovation. Also, this was not a problem for me, but breakfast is not included. Just an FYI for other travelers.
The staff were wonderful and accommodating. The location near RIT is perfect.

Stopper in bathroom sink didn't work to hold water.

While my room was very, very clean, it was a bit dated. It could use a paint job and some more bright lighting. The lights, even when they were all on, still left the room very dim.
The staff at the RIT Inn and Conference Center were lovely and helpful. While I did have to request a room cleaning every day before noon, it was very easy to do. The room was cleaned every day and it looked great and smelled great. There is a Keurig machine in the room and the staff was happy to give us extra regular coffee K-Cups everyday, as we don't drink decaf. There is also a mini fridge and microwave. The pool areas, indoor and outdoor, were very clean and well maintained. I did not eat in the restaurants, but having them on site right in the lobby was convenient. There is also a very tiny, but convenient "shop" in the lobby for snacks. There was plenty of parking and the parking lot was well lit and felt very safe.
