To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaThe view was awesome and the bed was ultra comfortable! The room was large enough for my husband's scooter so we were not cramped in the least. It was also nice to be near the elevator as well. The reception person was extremely accommodating, quickly changing our room to handicap-accessible. The bellman stowed our bags for us until we were able to leave and the doorman immediately found a cab for us on a busy Saturday afternoon.

PanamaFirst, when I arrived one hour after the arrival time informed to the Hotel, due to bad weather conditions, the Ritz had canceled my reservation … imagine I was arriving after a 12 hours trip with my daughter late night. They managed to resolved the issue as they were fully booked and put me in a room just in from of the elevator. And I only made one request at the time of booking: “far away from elevators”. I felt like they were doing a favor ! Not receiving the treatment for the amount paid. Anyway, I have to say that the rest of the personal made our stay easy going: the servers and at the restaurant, the room service for the day of our race (the Chicago half marathon), at 4:50am and the cleaning ladies of the room, the nicest! For a 5 star hotel and the brand “Ritz Carlton” Certainly I expected something above average. On their behalf, I requested an extension for our check-time and the lady at the front desk was kind to agree a couple of hours more so we can leave back home and a long flight without rush.
It was below my expectations. Not the Ritz I used to know.

United States of AmericaThe reception did not properly explain the amenities of an upgraded suite. I asked her to explain what a roll in shower was. She explained it as sum sort of showering device you roll into the room. Staff should be able to explain all the amenities that are available. Maybe there was a language barrier.

The location was good. The view was good. The room was plain and so were the furnishing for the price. The beds adornments were nice but not the chase lounge. It should have not been there. I really expected more pizazz for the price and the Ritz name. The wine and strawberries were a nice touch.

PeruWe originally booked a room with a bathtub. We were supposed to stay at the 29th floor with a great view but found out the room didn’t have a bathtub so we asked to be changed. They offered a smaller room at the 21st. We asked to check it first but we’re denuded because of covid procedures. (my husbands and I are fully vaccinated) when we went to the room, we noticed it was significantly smaller than our original one, we had no view of the lake (even after the receptionist said it was one of her favorite views -buildings I guess?) and the tub was dirty! We took photos, refused to stay in the room, but no compensations were made! Not even a formal apology! We were looking for the five-star experience that the Ritz -Carlton is so famous for, we found out it was the complete opposite. We had a two night stay but changed it to only that night because of how dissatisfied we were with both the service and the installation. It was part of our honeymoon, we were so heartbroken… Very disappointed.
The bed was very comfortable and they do know how to make a good old fashioned! Also the valet parking staff were great!
