Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe upstairs of the suite was very hot but the downstairs was really cold. I’m not sure you can change that though.
We loved the loft suite! The breakfast was excellent, and the place was so cute.

United States of AmericaThe pool was not opened because we were there before the summer started. That was not a game changer since I knew about it before booking.
The location is great with it being about 5 miles from Mt Rushmore and very close as well to Custer State Park. Hill City is only 10 miles away. The breakfast was average but most hotel breakfasts are average in my opinion.

United States of AmericaThere was nothing to dislike. We enjoyed our stay.
You can't beat the location and convenience to Mt. Rushmore. It's literally a two mile drive. We were able to go back in the evening to see the lights without any trouble. The rooms are comfortable and clean, although a little dated, but that didn't bother us. The breakfast is fabulous! Real eggs, yogurt, pastries, bacon etc. It was a great way to get going in the morning.

Staff were friendly and very helpful. The location was good, 24 hour tea and coffee facilities available, and the complimentary breakfast was good. For anyone visiting the area, the Roosevelt Inn is well worth checking in to. (And take a drive on Iron Mountain road)

United States of AmericaWe were in the area to early for the summer season. So finding an open restaurant was a challenge. That was not a hotel issue. The staff helped us find places to eat, visit, and enjoy.
While our rooms were not close together, we had everything we needed. Great Breakfast! Kind, knowledgeable, and helpful staff. I would stay there again.

United States of AmericaPretty sure our room was haunted, nothing scary though. Sounded like someone walking in our room at night, rustling plastic bag, noise in the bathroom.

United States of AmericaMaybe I should have booked a king-size bed. More noise than expected.
Staff was wonderful, our room was just next to the entry-level on the 3rd floor, so it was a bit noisy, and there was some construction going on. The breakfast was great. Rooms were spacious and clean. We loved the location.

United States of AmericaDon’t count on the pull out sofa as a sleeping space! It was not usable for our young adult and he ended up sleeping on the seating surface of the sofa. Also, this isn’t a big deal, but for planning purposes be sure to take toiletries…shampoo and conditioner were not provided.
Location was great! We visited off season so there was no traffic during our stay, which made the close proximity to Mount Rushmore and other attractions even better. It was also extremely affordable. Although the property is a little dated it was very clean, and our room was spacious for our family of four. Staff were very polite and friendly. Breakfast was good, and bonus…they served the BEST hotel coffee I have ever had!!
