Very poor lighting over the mirror in the bathroom. Too dim to put on makeup. No hook for towels near the shower. No safety bars in the shower. No light in the closet; poor bedroom lighting near that mirror as well. Would it hurt to indicate which of 5 grey doors from the parking lot side is the lobby door? Paying close to $100. for parking seemed like a gouge.

The location was close to home while renovations were underway at our house and near restaurants we like as well as the river for walking, so excellent for us Having that little nook to pull up to by the lobby was great b/c Calumet St. is busy. The apt. had everything we needed except for what's listed below. A nice surprise; we thought the bldg was only condos. All staff people were friendly yet professional and helpful.

The only down side that I can say is the location and streets can be a little confusing for a non local and someone traveling to that part of Philadelphia for the first time. I wish I had a little more time to explore more of the amenities that were available there.

I liked the room. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was really clean! The staff were also very helpful and engaging!

I really only have a few nits. The first is that the blinds aren't blackout, so if you are sensitive to light waking you up, you will wake up early. It was unclear what to do upon check-in; street signage would have been nice (or even something on the door/window where you check in). The room was a little loud to the outside.

The apartment was nice and felt modern. The staff was very good, proactive, and attentive. I liked that parking was gated and felt super safe.

Roost is really, really new. So the only thing that was a little bit challenging was initially finding the place, and then being able to provide a good pick-up/drop-off location to our ride-share drivers when we ventured downtown Saturday night. As we were first driving there, my phone app was showing the location on the wrong side of Kelly Drive (essentially right next to Falls Bridge) but since I'm originally from Philly I quickly realized that made no sense. The building sits on the east side of Kelly, with the lobby entrance actually on the tiny stretch of Calumet Street that runs between Kelly Drive and Ridge Avenue. Having found our way there, we still weren't sure because the signage on the building says something else... eventually I just pulled up in front of the building and walked to the door, where there was a small printed sign in the window that said Welcome to Roost. Yay, we found it. The front desk clerk (who was super friendly and helpful) explained that management knew about the issue and was working to get new and better signage installed. So hopefully this is just some growing pains for a new place that will resolve with time. If you do decide to stay there (and I highly recommend the hotel overall) and want to use an Uber/Lyft to get around, you might consider using Calumet or the gas station across the street as your location because Kelly Drive is a fairly terrifying road to have your driver stop and pull over to let you in or out, especially at night. If you drive to the hotel, as we did, they have secure garage parking available for a reasonable rate (unlike in center city where most of the hotels gouge you for an extra $50-$75 a day for parking).

We choose Roost because we wanted to be reasonably close to Center City but not spend our entire weekend amidst the hustle and bustle of the city. And we ended up having a really terrific stay. The hotel is basically brand new, and everything from the main lobby to our apartment-style room and the friendly, attentive staff was great. The room was sleek, modern, beautifully appointed and squeaky-clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and we might go shopping to find the exact same pillows for our home because we both loved them. The room had two brand new, large flat screen TVs (one in the bedroom and one out in the main space, adjacent to the kitchen, with DirecTV). We didn't get around to using the kitchen but I wished we had... all new quality appliances including a large refrigerator, glass cooktop and dishwasher, plus everything you'd need to cook and eat, as well as a tea kettle and coffeemaker. Two types of coffee pods were provided, though I didn't see any creamer or sugar. We visited a nearby coffee shop in Manayunk for our breakfast anyway, so that wasn't a concern for us. The room also had a spacious bathroom with a beautiful glass shower. We spent most of our weekend exploring the city and surrounding areas, so we also didn't get to check out any of the other hotel facilities, but everything we saw looked great. I would definitely return and stay there again.

It is expensive but if you want to stay in comfort it does give you value. We just didn’t need all those extras.

The location was perfect, Our children & grandchildren live within walking distance. Everything was new and spotless. The room is an apartment with a full kitchen which we hadn’t planned on so didn’t make use of but will in the future.

A little too sterile…all white. Not very cozy. Also, our Uber driver had a difficult time finding the place. The address was not clear and there were no markings. We pulled on doors and thank goodness, the staff came running out and flagged us down.

The staff was wonderful! Everything was very clean and seemed like all our needs had been anticipated.

Several Uber drivers could not find the property — very dangerous for a woman traveling alone. Both drop off from airport and several pickups they were all very confused. The customer (me) had to help the driver figure out the route. Again, DANGEROUS. The address of the property was incorrect, it is NOT Kelly Drive. It is Ridge Avenue. Plus, the signage is incorrect and has not bern changed as yet. This was a rushed opening, and I would NOT recommend this property until I have had another visit to assess. Safety for solo and female travelers should be paramount!!!!

Very modern, clean and NEW. But there were issues, see below.
