To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

I stayed at the Royal Sonesta to celebrate my birthday. I was greeted by such friendly staff that were committed to ensuring my stay was as comfortable as possible. I did have minor issues with my room accommodation, but Gerry was PHENOMENAL at ensuring my needs were met and I was able to have amazing accommodations. I really appreciate Gerry and I know my stay would not have been the same without him!!

The location was excellent because it is walking distance to Galleria stores and restaurants. Ambiance in hotel was nice as well as the staff was very pleasant and helpful.

United States of AmericaThere was no microwave in the room, the charge for parking was a bit astronomical, and the water pressure in shower was not great. The hotel was very nice just wish that there was some conveniences like parking and microwaves.
It was easy to get to room wise and the layout was nice. I liked the beds and the view. The front desk people were very courteous and helpful.

United States of AmericaThe reason I selected Royal Sonesta was because we were getting a better deal through booking.com, however; with all the added fees, such as “destination, tax” which I think is ridiculous, it really wasn’t a bargain at all!

United States of AmericaThe parking fee was $40 (valet) and $30 (self park) and my room faced the highway which was SO noisy with all the traffic and cars that just wanted to be loud later into the night. New windows and at least a sound machine would help this a lot. Also, the paint job on the ceiling/trim in my room was never finished out properly and was super noticeable in the morning. There was also nothing but a bare boxspring on the bed which seemed not like a four or five start hotel. Bed and pillow were clean and comfy, but having it finished makes all the difference.
It was a nice property very near to Highland Village which is great for shopping and food.

United States of AmericaThe price of food was exceptionally high. Even though I was in a handicapped accessible room, I could barely maneuver my wheelchair in room. And the bathroom wheelchair barely fit at all. The sliding door to bathroom took 2 people to close

ItalyThe room was spacious and nice and the staff at the reception and at the restaurant is very kind, but you need to be aware there is a mandatory daily fee of $19 that includes 2 bottles of water and a $10 voucher at the coffee shop (one per day). I read the “fine prints” a day after checking in and they kindly gave me a refund.
