Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandHotel and facilities were tired. With the lobby bar being closed , the hotel lobby was empty and no atmosphere . Can only imagine was it would have felt like before Covid .
Location was great for ease of walking to Times Square and subway.

United States of AmericaIt’s pretty dark, no bar or restaurant, and the outside is made even darker by layers of scaffolding. The small room had torn window coverings, and torn, worn, and stained carpet. For $700 a night!
The bed! I think it was the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. And I love how the two beds in the room are separated by a wall with inset shelves and lighting. Like being on a ship. Big kudos for that. The location is good, and surprisingly quiet.

GreeceThere was noise from the street which is to be expected when in Manhattan. The lobby which is elegant but out of use. There should be a cafe, serving breakfast or sth. Its a pity they dont make use of it. Some coffee machine in the room would be helpful.
Perfect location, central and close to landmarks. They gave us a spacious room, comfortable and with a functional fridge on the 7th floor. Much bigger room than average Manhattan hotel at this rate. The staff is friendly and eager to help, special mention to Maria at the front desk, very pleasant.

AustraliaUnfortunately the hotel hasn't quite recovered from Covid. There is no longer a restaurant or a bar and the place feels quite abandoned when you first enter. The decor is quite dated, it looks vey 60's, and I believe was a 'party hotel' in the past. Sad there are no more parties as the place is in a great location.
The location of this hotel is excellent - 2 blocks from Times Square, and just off 5th avenue. The hotel staff are very helpful and friendly. Our first room was quite dismal but the staff happily relocated us for minimal cost. The new room had a bigger bed (King) and a separate living area which was great.

United KingdomRoom wasn't very clean - stains on carpet and sofa, and dirty in corners of the room and bathroom. It wasn't bad, but the rooms need a refurb really as they're quite old fashioned. It didn't spoil our trip though, and you get fresh, clean towels every day!
Perfect location to stay - safe area and close to tourist attractions Great size room and very comfortable bed Staff were friendly and housekeeping were great Would recommend for couples/families/tourists There was a hairdryer and iron in the room too!

CanadaThe lack of food and coffee etc was huge especially since we arrived later in the evening. A room service meal or even snacks would have been appreciated.
There was no food/ restaurant in the hotel and the reception desk was tucked away in the wall so you couldn’t see it when you walked in . The room had no service for tea or coffee or even glasses to drink the water. The phone was tucked away in the corner porthole by the bed so not accessible very easily. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable but there a few things lacking and for the price that I paid I expected more. There are so many little things they could do to fix those issues to make the place more inviting and have more services like food , move the reception desk to the front area etc.

CanadaAs a manager in a "boutique" hotel in a resort town myself, I see everything. As happens too many times in the industry, the design of the inside is too much (lobby and room). Design opinion aside, the room was a bit rough. frayed carpet, broken panel on the air handler. Poor choice and design of the shower fixtures (you'll find out the hard way). Glass vanity and steel sink just looks dirty/messy (not the fault of the HK staff). The silly design of the unusable fireplace didn't help, and there was some strange spikey thing mounted to the front of it and I would almost consider it a safety hazard. No coffee or kettle or drinking glasses in the room. None of these comments are a reflection of the staff in my opinion. Too bad the lobby bar isn't open but that is a sign of the times.
Everyone we interacted with was great, friendly, helpful and seemed genuinely happy to be there. Of course the location is excellent. The housekeeping staff is doing a great job and super friendly. The doormen are very attentive, professional and talkative. Desk staff always say hello, offer to help and are quite friendly. The bed was very comfortable and we appreciated the daily service. For the staff, 5 Stars!

FranceThe area is a little loud and proper double glazed windows would help a lot. And the a/c system needs a full shut down mode. Us, Europeans, can’t stand the loud windiness of American A/C.
Absolutely stunning, the staff is extremely well trained and wonderfully pleasant and helpful. Truly the highlight of my stay. The room was magnificent and oh so comfortable.

IrelandIt is a pity the bar area has not opened back up since COVID as it seems a waste of such a beautiful space.
The Royalton is located very close to Times Square but just far away enough to be a quiet at night as there was no noise from the streets when sleeping - amazing location with only a few minutes walk to the subway to take you anywhere you need to go in the city. The staff were very nice and friendly. The beds were very comfy and I liked the option to connect to the TV and cast from your phone. The couch in the bedroom was a nice touch. The rooms were quite spacious compared to other hotels where I have stayed in the city. The lobby decor is stunning but it is a pity the bar area has not opened up since COVID as the setting is very nice and relaxing.

NorwayNo restaurant or bar at the hotel. Ground floor has seating and looks like there has been a restaurant here some time ago but today it is an unused area. No room service available. Although uber eats and others can deliver at a resonable time.
Just a couple of blocks from Times Square you are in the heart of mid town Manhattan. Subway stations in the vicinity and restaurants close by.
