Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The room I was given was next to the electric room and laundry room. I was awakened several times throughout the night from various noises. I would stay here again but not in the same room.
The room has been remodeled nicely with beautiful shower. The room was very clean. Staff was very nice.

The charge for later check out but I get it.
I loved the king suite with sinks and fridge as well as microwave. It was the perfect studio apartment! Thanks sandman!

there wasn't anything to complain about but I would have to say the breakfast is pretty much a joke.. but all things considered it was a great time

This time, though, there were a few problems. The hotel is building a structure instead of maintaining a dedicated grassy dog-walk area. As far as the room, the key did not work when I initially tried to open the door, then the refrigerator would not get cold. The next day the toilet clogged up. Maintenance staff took care of all the problems--and these could have happened at any hotel. It's just that there were a lot of things for one trip.
I've stayed at the Sandman before. I enjoyed the sizeable rooms and especially appreciated their welcome policy so I could travel with my dog. Most of the staff go above and beyond to make things work.

The driveway to hotel is awkward. This particular night, fire alarms went off twice and stayed on for a long time it seemed. That sound was close to midnight.
Perfect location between Sonoma County Airport and Santa Rosa. Rooms are very clean, great showers, nice large tvs

Continental breakfast left a lot to be desired. Just hard bagels and bananas. May have been worse as we arrived to eat just after a tour group, but still very limited choice. Breakfast room is nowhere big enough to accommodate the number of guests - just 3 tables for around 8 people each
Lovely hotel. Great sized room with great facilities inside. Lovely shower.Pool looked great, just a shame we only stayed one night briefly so couldn't use it. Good location, would consider visiting again in summer and staying for a few days.

Breakfast was very poor. The first morning we showed up, there was no food left. The second morning there was very little food. No juice or water just coffee, cheap bagels, and old bananas. The biggest issue was the loudness. This property is more like a motel not hotel.

Could hear people all night above us walking and jumping around ALL NIGHT😢 breakfast wasn't the best 😕 shower door wouldn't stay shut while showering, and it was super expensive considering the hotel

The only down side was breakfast 😕, the night clerk forgot to give me breakfast tickets so I wasn't able to claim my breakfast goodie bag eventhough I had my room keys. Oh well maybe next time.
This was my second stay here this year and we had a very nice stay both times. The place is newely remodeled, rooms are large and comfortable and very quite during the night. They have a poolhouse bar that I wasn't able to stop into but maybe next time. Friendly staff.

The breakfast was so-so. The staff was not very friendly, they were a bit rude.
The room was clean and comfortable. It was also roomy with a small table and small kitchenette, just a microwave and fridge. There was continental breakfast in the morning.
