Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaI was not happy with the booking experience. I was charged improperly. I was told by the owner that I would get a refund between what I was quoted and what I was actually charged, and I did not. And I do not want to be contacted again regarding this because it just upsets me.
Very close to the cruise port

United States of AmericaThe property does not have elevators, which would ruin the vintage appeal if it did in our opinion, so be prepared to do a lot stair climbing. The staircases are beautiful and safe but for retirees can be a bit challenging.
Love the beauty of The Mansion and quiet tranquility! The location is literally perfect for enjoying The Strand and Pier eateries. We have stayed multiple times while cruising and love that our vehicle may stay safely parked at The Mansion for the duration of the cruise at no additional cost. The staff members and owner are second to none! Having a happy hour social and a gourmet breakfast and French press coffee in the gorgeous dining room are such a great perk too! We also love relaxing on the large verandas and around the fire pit at night.

GermanyNothing could have been better for us.
Everything about this elegant, historic building was classy: large rooms tastefully furnished, splendid fresh-cooked breakfasts with crockery and cutlery, friendly and helpful staff, happy hour wine and cheese a delight after a day's sightseeing. And just a short walk to the downtown area.

United KingdomPeriod house so some mod cons trickier though hosts have thought of every way to accommodate. Wifi in room & throughout but we couldn't work out how to charge phones next to bed rather than other side of room. Not a problem for us. We would have preferred better blinds on bathroom windows and bath/shower might be a challenge if mobility issues.
Superb hosts who made us feel so welcome. Fab location in a beautifully restored house in the historic district. Spacious, well decorated room. A lovely breakfast in the dining room, cooked to order, and an optional opportunity to meet the hosts and other guests in a social hour in the afternoon.

DenmarkYou have to buy in on the family/back in time-theme. If you do, as we did, it is hard to find a negative side to this hotel.
A wonderful colonial feel. Like stepping back in time. The place is run like a family hotel, and that is the vibe we got. The room was spacious and with vintage feeling to ad to the 'old time' look and feel. As this is more a family house than a modern hotel, there is no soundproofing between the rooms, so expect neighbour noise. Did not bother us though. There is an afternoon gathering of guests. Did not participate as we had a late check in, but try to catch it if you can. Ads an extra layer to the family feel. Also there was a night cap in the common area, when we returned from a dinner in town. Nice, little feature/treat. We borrowed some bike to go around Galveston. Perfect way to experience the surroundings.
