This property is a hidden gem. The rooms are cute, clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The rocking chairs overlooking the River that is only steps away are my favorite part.

Just can't beat the location on the river. rooms are always clean and comfortable with updated bedding. Love having multiple BBQs to cook food we bring and a small fridge to store items in the room.

there were stairs that lead down to the river. also, there was a fire place with wood you can use too. propane bbq’s too. great getaway with many amenities

Amazing location, quiet, clean, friendly staff. The people here are real genuine and everything about our stay was refreshing. The best thing was stepping out of the room right down to the river for morning coffee. Definitely recommend it 10/10.

Nothing - this place was really charming! Highly recommended.

We stayed in the river view suite, room #17, for a short weekend family trip during the winter off-season. The room was spotless and adorably decorated with fishing and bear images; it had a charming little kitchen with free popcorn and coffee; a sweet faux fireplace to keep us cozy, and totally stunning views of the Kern River from the patio and through nearly all the windows. The kitchen was fully stocked with a sink, utensils, plates, cups, a microwave, a mini-fridge, dishwashing liquid, towels, etc. We could see a dusting on snow in the nearby mountains. The staff had the heater turned on for us before we arrived and they were super friendly and helpful. There's a fish cleaning hut, lots of picnic tables, a chimnea with free wood, and at least one bbq grill available for guests; the path to the river is also lit up at night and lined with river rocks. It was so peaceful and beautiful! The only thing we missed was the Riverkern General Store across the street, which is closed this time of year. I'm sure it's much more lively in the spring and summer, but the winter was just right for us.

gorgeous, the setting is absolutely beautiful, so peaceful. rooms are nice, and in keeping with the rest of the village.

The only bummer was the road to the sequoias was closed. We did drive to end and found a nice ranch. Lake Isabella is not to impressive. It is a place where desert meets the mountain forest.

Beautiful area. Small town atmosphere. If you enjoy peace and quiet. Nature. Friendly people. Come here. All day the military jets fly through about every hour till 5 pm. It's very cool.

The headboard was bolted to the wall, the legs on the headboard blocked the electric outlet so I couldn't plug in my USB cube for my lightening cable to charge my phone, I had to plug it in by the tv. Next time, I'll bring an extension cord, hopefully I can get it plugged in by the headboard.

The motel was a few miles outside of the main part of town, I liked that about the place, it was quiet.

There was nothing we didn't like

We booked room 17, with view to the river. It was so peaceful and relaxing to hear the sound of the river. We got in late, but called ahead and our key was left for us to pick up. The heater was turned on, so we didn't enter a cold room. Very thoughtful care during our stay.

Nothing related to the lodge itself. Unfortunately we weren't able to visit Sequoia National Park due to the fires, but if we were to visit again, would stay at Sequoia lodge.

Nice, clean, rustic-feel type of room. Parking in front of our room. There Gina the owner/hostess was very pleasant.

The bed isn’t quite as comfortable as could be, but still not bad. The shower is small, but with great water pressure. Small things. I would still happily return here.

This place was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is close to town and next to the river and actually already in the Sequoia Forest. Amenities were good and the room was spacious. We plan to return. Price was good.

Absolutely Everything. Room 17 was overlooking the river and mountains. We only stayed 1 night because our vacation was only 1 week and spent most with family. The Beds were very comfortable and the little kitchen was so cute with a lodge pole table and chairs. The decoration is all about fishing including the sheets. Very nice barbecue’s and fish cleaning station that we will definitely use next visit.

Amazing location near the river with its own beach (not suitable for swimming because of many stones)
