To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaI spoke with someone the day before check-in, and they were very dismissive and hard to hear on the phone. I was not sure if they resolved my problem because the call ended before I could confirm. There was one more thing about my stay that was odd: the TV and light would flicker in and out, almost in sync at times.
I liked that this location was perfect for me to walk everywhere I needed to go for food, events, etc. The room was clean and nice. I was hoping for a fridge or something, but those were not included. The bed was comfortable, so I could get a good night's rest.

United States of AmericaThe hotel is a bit dated, and it’s beginning to show — the bathroom could be updated and the outlet made my curling iron WAY too hot (it burnt off a section of my hair). After our stay, I do feel like we drastically overpaid, but I assume rates were higher because of the Bluegrass Festival.
The staff went above and beyond to help. The beds were comfortable, and because of the central location, we were able to walk to restaurants, sites, and the opera house.

United States of AmericaThe hotel basically shut down despite many people from the show staying in the hotel. I would like to see more anticipation from the hotel on busy show nights, in which there are probably quite a few people staying there. We all came over about the same time and I saw over 20 people just when I entered. I ended up bumping into others looking for vending or anywhere to buy drinks. Everything was shut down. Staff went above and beyond to find me a gatorade in the back and didn't charge me. Huge points there.
The location was great, as we attended a show at the Red Hat Amphitheater. The room was solid and met all expectations. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The location to the convention center was close and a very easy short walk. Check in was fast and helpful. Parking was very convenient and covered. Overall it was a very good stay there were a few items that were brought to the attention of the staff and they were corrected in a prompt manner. The customer service at check out was very professional, quick, courteous.
