Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaRoom needed a detailed cleaning. The baseboards had lots of dust on them. The floors looked clean but they weren't as we had a water spill and when I wiped it up the towel was dirty. It was hot and humid outside during our stay. The air conditioner kept the room cool but didn't take much of the humidity out so things felt damp.
Dog friendly had dog run, provided beds and bowls, allowed pet to stay in room while family out and about. Staff was very nice and helpful. Loved the free shuttle to downtown. Pillows and bedding were nice.

United States of AmericaI'm not sure this is the issue with the staff or the hotel itself, but some of my friends noticed that when they hung up their shirts so they wouldn't wrinkle, they woke up to find the shirts mysteriously damp... no one had taken a shower that could have made the shirts wet. That's still a mystery...
The rooms were clean and the location was ideal for traveling to the historic district, which was a 3-5 minute drive. Ample parking, and check-in/check-out were quick and painless. I appreciate their drinks and snacks store by the front desk. The breakfast wasn't above-and-beyond super-amazing-fantastic, but they had potatos, eggs, grits, toast, sausage gravy on biscuits, coffee, pancakes--more than serviceable for a day exploring the city.

United States of AmericaWhen I got the final bill there was a $25 fee for additional services, I did not receive any additional services and staff at checkout couldn’t really explain what it was for. My one night stay booked through Booking.com of $157 turned out to be just over $235 at checkout

United States of AmericaIt has everything you could need. Plus, super dog friendly and close to everything. We utilized the shuttle to downtown this time. Wasn’t something we used in the past, but will certainly do that again. It’s our 3 stay here and we love some of the improvements. The greenery, the paint on the building, the revamped dog and pool area….keep it up! Always clean and pleasant. The breakfast is hearty and the value is good.

United States of AmericaI was trying since early February to get ground floor rooms next to each other due to having surgery on right foot, needing surgery on left, difficulty walking and doing steps. Stopped in around 9am, was treated well by Cheyenne, secured 1 ground floor room. Check-in was a different story. Your desk person was very rude. At 3:10 pm I was trying to get second room near my room. I was told it was shift change, can't check in. I was just trying to get 2nd room ground level for my disabled grandson. She (not Cheyenne) didn't care. I had to wait until 4pm to request but of course too late. We were told rooms werent ready at 3:20 which was fine. Amazingly we sat by pool and never saw housekeeping cleaning any rooms. They actually were ready. Our 2nd room had electrical problems. No bathroom light. Fourth time at Southern Oaks, never had a problem with staff before. I am an easy going, patient, understanding person. Not disgruntled. Cheyenne was the most pleasant helpful person during our 3 day stay. I hope she's there when we return with out-of-towners for Nights of Lights. I will book under my husband's name as I did in January to ensure a smooth check-in as I will need ground floor for both rooms again. Other than rude check-in, it was fabulous as always. Breakfast staff are always fabulous and the food is great!! Until then, no more recommendations to my co-workers and friends. See you in January!
I always enjoy my stay at Southern Oaks. It is clean and quiet. Van shuttle service is a great plus. Breakfast is always fantastic.

United States of AmericaThis is a classic American motor inn with outside entrance to the rooms. So far so good, but, at my age I missed having an elevator for luggage. Small bean, though.
The breakfast was really good. Old fashioned American fare, well prepared and fresh.

United States of AmericaOur friends that we traveled with were on the first floor but thier room smelled like urine. It was absolutely disgusting!
Our room was very clean, though being on the 2nd floor was not convenient for my husband who has a hard time with stairs and no elevator.

United States of AmericaRoom and especially bathroom was in need of good cleaning. Breakfast was very odd, as there was server and she refused to give us more food with explanation there is more people coming and than they would have shortage. We never had this experience before and since we paid almost 200$ per room and night, it was very bizarre.
Awesome check in staff. Free shuttle to historic center was awesome.

United States of AmericaNothing comes to mind. I would just say that Saint Augustine’s attractions are not all pet friendly and neither are many of the bars and restaurants but that is not the hotel’s fault.
It is pet friendly. Their dog park is a huge bonus. Never seen that before. The free bus is awesome especially since we could bring our dog. We used this service every day. The staff were lovely. ♥️
