Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaWe stayed over Easter break -- early spring. It was unexpectedly warm, but there was no easy way to turn on the air conditioning, much less open a window. Our room was STIFLING the first night, despite my having called down several times to address it. I was told the hotel was being switched over for the season from heat to AC. This is nuts. After I expressed serious dissatisfaction (I am lucky not to be having hot flashes -- but can you imagine?!?), they finally sent an engineer to our room to adjust the HVAC settings. We were told it would get cooler and we were getting the "VIP settings." Ummmm.... so, if you aren't "VIP" you just have to sit in it? This did resolve the issue, however, and for the rest of the stay we were comfortable. When we were checking out, I heard another guest complaining about the heat in her room. I am glad to know we aren't the only ones. This is a great hotel, but this HVAC issue has to be fixed. It should not require a request. Guests should be able to set the temperature of their rooms, or at least open a window and have a fan.
The location is terrific and it feels quite special to stay here. The staff is attentive and professional with a lot of polish. The exercise room is well-appointed and the rooms are very nicely sized. Loved the layout of our suite.

United States of AmericaThe lack of parking even for unloading/loading. The older doorman was a little pushy about parking, even to use the restroom while an obvious hotel guest. It wasn't very welcoming especially considering parking on the same street is quite limited with heavy traffic on M street.
I thought the hotel layout was aesthetically beautiful. Good location around so many other hotels, making it a kind of tourist district.

United States of AmericaThe AC ventilation system was very noisy, running constantly day or night. There was no way we could turn it off. It was a real spoiler. Bathroom had no ventilation. Shower water was dripping on the floor. So we had to use a towel to keep the bathroom floor dry. The bathroom definitely needs some upgrade.
We got a nice 8th floor suite with panoramic views of the city. The location was perfect. Easy to walk to various eating and shopping places.

United States of AmericaThere was a "voucher" for breakfast for $25. I had avocado test with 2 eggs and black coffee and this voucher didn't cover that, which is a little sad. At least provide a voucher that can cover a basic entree and drink.
Great room with plenty of space. I liked that it didn't have a "hotel" feel to it. It was warm and had character.

United States of AmericaStephen met us when we drove up, unloaded the car, and made us feel special throughout our stay. Two elderly ladies need extra help, and the staff was there for us all the way. The room was comfortable, the shower had grab bars, and the beds were great. We would definitely return.

United States of AmericaThe room smelled like it had been smoked it then sprayed with febreeze, which gave me a bit of a migraine. On the plus side, you could open the windows, so was able to air it out - I wish that had been done prior to my stay. The bathroom was pretty dated and had a cheap plastic nozzle with very little water pressure. Overall, the hotel was a bit expensive for what it was.
The staff were lovely, super friendly and personable. I had requested a quiet room and they made sure to put me in a high room away from foot traffic, and it was clear that some thought had gone into the request. The "resort fee" was a surprise and a bit steep (I find it strange that non-resorts now charge resort fees, I don't actually need Wifi, or free water, etc) but was nicely offset by the $25 dining credit they allot. Used it to have breakfast, which was fine.

United States of AmericaBeds were barely made on our last day there. Parking should be listed as VALET ONLY parking. Very expensive to have a car parked in Washington DC. Got an extra credit card charge by eating at the Ellington Bistro which took way to much effort to resolve. Watch out for the speed cameras in DC. Got a ticket for $100 for doing 36 mph in a supposed 25 mph zone which was an underpass. 25 Mph!, Are you kidding me.....
Location of the hotel was OK. 10 minute walk to the Metro. Lobby was nice and staff friendly.

United States of AmericaMy sink had drainage issues. The toilet bowl tank was not covered fully so that was concerning. The walls are super thin and I can hear everything going on in the hallway. The AC doesn’t cool the room down so I was very hot and struggled to get sleep.
The ambiance was good, the location is in a nice area and a safe environment. The shower gets hot like I like it, the bed was super comfy! The room layout was beautiful.
