Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Bathroom light n fan were loud and the ceiling in the bathroom needed to be fixed, hanging down some.

My room smelled so bad I bought an air fresher. I didn’t feel completely safe -it seems like there are quite a few people living here and they seem to. R participating in illegal activities

I had wanted a copy of my bill and was told it would be sent via email from Booking.com. It was not. I had to call to request it for a copy as I needed it for reimbursement. Whenever someone asks for a copy of the bill, just give it to him/her or allow us to take a photo via our phones. Don't assume we'll get it via email.
The breakfast was very nice. Standard breakfast with something for everyone. I appreciated the very quick check-in.

Our room had a distinct smell that I had a hard time tolerating. It needed fresh air, but no way to open the window. Rif Raf appeared out back (I was waiting on my husband before we left) scared me a little in the morning. Knives, large tats, "white"gangsta looking, just some rough looking/talking younger adults. Hopefully just a happen stance on both accounts.
Convenient to shopping and eating and less expensive for a one night stay. The facility seems to be well kept up and clean. Our bed and pillows were very comfortable.

Had bad odor... also could smell the dogs they had there... could hear everything from above rooms... ran out of coffee before 7 am. Only had boxes of cereal left before 7 am. Even tho door had sticker that said masks required.. not one person employee or guest wore one
Cable worked well .a/c was super cold which was great. Bathroom clean with plenty of towels. Big mini frig was also a plus

The hotel is a bit older, and it seemed like no matter how soft we tried to walk in the hallway, it always sounded like a herd of elephants. People coming and going at all hours made it a bit difficult to stay asleep the entire night.
The location was convenient and the front desk clerk was very friendly. Our room was towards the back so unloading luggage was easy for us. For being a pet room, the carpet was quite clean. My husband, a veteran, also appreciated seeing a reserved parking space near the front for vets.

The bathtub was not very clean. The security was non existent, anyone could enter premises without a key, and the doors didn't close well to the rooms. If it wasn't for the fact I carried a weapon I would not have felt secure.

Well, my kids and I had separate rooms and the kids door had previously been kicked in, could barely lock the door. Our room had dog food in the sink, the shower surround had punch marks in it and my room smelled of urine.
