Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyThe location is not the best. You will need to take the car or an Uber to reach any other point more relevant of the city.
It was everything clean and the staff was friendly. The breakfast was small, simple, but good. We stayed for only two nights, but even though there was room service.

United States of AmericaSaturday night prices a bit high for the room and limited parking, as we had a third guest. Breakfast was OK, but simply continental. Check in could be better.
Tough finding a place in Santa Monica at a decent price, but all the basics came thru. Room was secure and safe, comfortable no frills, TV and bathroom plus beds all fine. Lots of pillows so comfortable stay.

Good breakfast, loved the pancake maker, clean room and comfy bed. Had everything we needed for an evening in Santa Monica. Plus a bus stop outside to get to the pier was a bonus! Receptionist in morning was very friendly. Thank you!

United KingdomShower was like a trickle. First room the aircon was broke, got moved to another where the aircon supposedly worked but it was VERY noisy and I'm not sure we actually got any cold air, thankfully it wasn't that warm most the days we were there, but if it was we would have struggled with the heat. A bit far out from everything, not really anything within walking distance, so definitely rent a car!
Room was a good size, with comfty beds and pillows. Ice machine and a fridge included. Free parking, however it does get full up if you arrive later than 9pm. It did the job for what we needed whilst we were there, however felt a bit pricy for what it was. Didn't try the free breakfast, there's a starbucks just down the road.

United States of AmericaIn our room, the TV had an inch thick black line running through the middle of it where the pixels were dead. We didn't come to watch TV, so that was annoying, but not the end of the world. We let the front desk know right away, but they had no rooms to change us to or tvs to swap out. The parking areas are very small and compact, and it can be difficult to maneuver larger cars in them. There are no elevators to the second story, so keep that in mind when packing.
The room was very clean and well appointed. We were in the 3rd building, which had a charming courtyard. It was nice that there was a key card entry to get into the courtyard area. The room looked to have been painted recently. I liked that it had a small area with a table and fridge. The front desk employees were very nice and check in was quick.

United States of AmericaParking area is too far for the room. The floor between first and second floor rooms is too thin so you can hear steps from the room above you, which is kind of annoying especially when the guests above are walking around late at night and early in the morning!
Property entrance is gated and locked which adds security. Rooms are clean and bathroom and kitchen are separated from the sleeping area, plus there is a small eating space. Breakfast is fine, with pretty much everything you need for breakfast. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

United States of AmericaThe ice machine was located at the building next door, upstairs. While the setting there was actually quite botanical-like and beautiful, we were directed down a sketchy, back walkway to get to it. Our presence startled a guest walking in front of us. And we noticed how he sped up, hastily opened the gate, rushed in, and quickly closed it as he disappeared out of sight. That was unfortunate.
We had a queen room with two beds. The amenities (fridge, microwave, small table and chairs, desk, closet, private bathroom, etc.), were amazing! It was very clean, quiet, and about three miles from the pier. My teenager really liked our room.

CanadaThey could make an effort to improve the overall appearance -- looks like a motel.
At first we were given a noisy room, right facing the main street. But we were able to get a quieter room though smaller. Bed was comfortable and everything was renovated and worked well. Breakfast was quite good. Location was what we wanted: close (10 minutes drive) to Santa Monica pier and Venice Beach, and just off the 405.
