Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaRoom stunk of air freshener due to an in room pod (i understand in between renters, but it's a little strong for a room where you cant open the windows). Rooms are obviously quite old; less charm more problematic, or at least lack convenient modern entities. The rooms are stuffy but large.
The bed, the tub, the size of the room, complimentary coffee, overall style and well maintained facilities.

United States of AmericaThe building is over 120 years old so naturally there are a few eccentricities. Our rooms floor not exactly level. But the rooms were clean up to date w modern amenities. The Kohler spa tub was a delight.
Location great. The property did not serve breakfast.

United States of AmericaThe furnishings were modest. No dresser and not much table space, but good enough.
I found this hotel the day of my stay during AirVenture week in Oshkosh. I felt fortunate to find it on a late booking. I loved the town of Mayville and the rural location. The bathroom and shower were good. The room was large.

United States of AmericaLeft several messages for early check in by phone and email with only 1 response by email. When I got there to check in no one was there and took a while to reach someone. Paid in advance and then they had me pay when I got there also. Bed was hard as a rock but really liked the room

United States of AmericaThere were no drinking glasses in the room and no staff to call after 8 pm to request any. Even though my room had a “view” the screens were so dirty it was hard to enjoy it.
The spa tub was incredible. The air conditioning was quiet. The historical background was interesting. There was a fridge that was not mentioned in hotel info.

United States of AmericaThe only real issue was the parking. Since you are unable to park on Main Street in the evenings, we had to park on the side street. Sometimes it was a little difficult to find parking on the designated street.
I liked the location and the historic atmosphere of the hotel. The paintings throughout the building were beautiful. The staff were extremely friendly. It is a beautiful building. The rooms were quite large and comfortable.

United States of AmericaThe room needs at least one bedside lamp, the gray walls could use some framed pictures, the shower/tub is difficult to get in and out of, the room had no hangers, there were shades only which didn’t block out morning light, windows need exterior washing, the TV was flat to the wall and difficult to see from bed. Road noise began at 5:00AM and could be heard in our 3rd floor room.
Historical building in a great location with a comfortable bed. Receptionist was very nice and welcoming.

United States of AmericaLack of historical charm in room. Rest fine
The desk clerk very personable and helpful. Lovely lobby. The room was Very clean and well taken care of. I was a bit disappointed in the room in the sense it wasn’t like the picture and the furnishings lacked beauty and historical feeling. We paid an small “historical fee” . Nothing made it gave it historical charm Two queen or king size beds placed perpendicular to each other and filled most if room. . No comfortable chair to relax in. The price was good and still worth the price.

United States of America(Room 29) There weren't enough reading lamps. (One in a room that could have used four.) The tap water was cloudy and gritty. There was no place (shelf? table?) to place toiletries or grooming equipment in the bathroom. And all the art had been removed from the room, giving it a strangely institutional feel.
It was very quiet and the bed was comfortable. Fridge in room; microwave and Kreurig on each floor. Very convenient to Horicon Marsh which was the main reason for our stay. A relaxing and unique place to stay.

United States of AmericaThe one thing that I didn't like wasn't the fault of the hotel. We ended up not needing one of the rooms due to one of my brothers being ill. We cancelled that room and were charged a 1-night cancellation fee through Booking.com. With all the other issues with our reservations, we have not been able to get that fee waived, as all the other fees were waived.
The staff was exceptional. They went out of their way to correct a big problem with our reservations through Booking.com.

United States of AmericaThere were no pictures on the walls just the fixtures. The staff didn't know that I was coming so they weren't sure if my room had been cleaned. I found short black hair in my bedding. The windows had plastic and painters tape on them so I couldn't look out or open them up. The tiles on the bathroom ceiling were moved. The room didn't stay warm with the space heater. It was really cold 🥶.
