This is my favourite hotel in Miami. Compared to the bling high rise hotels around Miami beach, Betsy is an oasis of class, elegance and history. It feels like you've stepped back into the 50s. Tasteful comfortable rooms, friendly staff, fantastic location. The food - INCREDIBLE. Plus - the owner is Zimbabwean and runs HIV orphanages there - I'd stay in this hotel for that reason alone! I'll be back!

Upstairs pool could be refurbished. The place was a little tired in areas but still fabulous. The balcony to the room could be styled.

Room was clean and well styled, location was great, fantastic vibe. Loved the bar and outside area.

Beautiful place, full of books, art and character. The room felt personable as it contained an interesting selection of books, absolutely loved it and would have liked to stay longer!

The standard room was very small and didn’t have space to store cloths or luggage. However was able to upgrade the room to the balcony suite which was very spacious and comfortable… but came at a premium prive.

Room was not as swish (for the price) as I was expecting. Most of staff good and friendly but one of the bar staff I found ‘offish’ in his manner.

Quaint details around the hotel. Great rooftop pool. Dedicated area on the beach was great.

Noisy from next door on first 3 nights partying on the balcony but not the hotels fault, just inconsiderate guests

All of the staff were fantastic, special shout out to Franco and Juan for going the extra mile every day. Clean, great decor and good location. The food is also fantastic.

In the mornings around 10ish, we could hear housekeeping cleaning the room upstairs. Not sure if it’s due to the ceiling wall being thin.

The location was close to all the actions but removed from loud music/noises Staff and service were exceptional. Wanted to call out Fritzner at the front desk and Juan. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time! During our stay, the lobby had free snacks and wine for the guests.

Had an amazing stay at the beautiful and spacious hotel located directly at Ocean Drive. It front row and super central but still very quiet and a peaceful oase! It has everything you wish for to spend perfect holidays! 2 pools, one at the roof for amazing sunsets and one at the atrium if you want to spend some time without direct sun (we were traveling with a toddler), great live piano at the lobby, delicious restaurant, great coffee place, perfectly selected playlists for every corner of the hotel,… You can really see everything is chosen carefully with an eye on quality! You can find art all over the hotel and you really feel the creative and inspiring vibe! Beside all that it’s the amazing people working at that hotel that made our stay so special! Special thanks therefore to Juan, Fritz, Ewan, Monica, Chris and the whole team! We will definitely come back to this hotel the next time we are in Miami!

Personally as a European, the prices of alcohol and food in Miami Beach were extortionate for basically average food. It left a bad feeling, especially when you are paying 5 times the price for an average beer. The mandatory 20% service charge on everything was beyond the pale and the excuse of “well that’s Miami” isn’t good enough. I would suggest that the city is acting as a cabal with this kind of behaviour. I am in Tampa at this moment, so it’s not the same everywhere. In the long run this will put off tourists

The hotel is beautiful and set on the prestigious South Beach. The staff were attentive and very helpful. The Carlton Cafe was great but we never managed the main restaurant. The lobby bar was good too.
