Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

A proper coffee machine in the room would be good.
we had the suite with 2 rooms, very comfortable bed, sofas and nicely done. Cute balcony too. The restaurant on site was good and the location is convenient. Staff at checkin was lovely.

The price is relatively good comparing to the Northstar Village. It was a short drive to Northstar and ski and travel around the lake and back to the hotel easy.

Rooms are a bit small, but not enough to deter me from going back.
Buildings had a great Tahoe lodge feeling. It was a small hotel, but the staff made you feel like a part of the community. Rooms were very comfortable and clean.

The only downside was location. You are outside of the main town which is too far to walk into - we tried but turned back. Having said that, there was a good restaurant on site, so really no need to leave.
Our room was fantastic. Roomy, clean, modern, good coffee. The staff were really friendly on both check in and check out. Good parking. We thought it was really good value.

The rooms were comfortable although I would consider updating the heating system as I has a hard time figuring out how to increase the heat in my room. It would also have been nice to have an additional blanket as it was pretty chilly, all I found was an extra sheet. The hotel did have me sign a release form that said my dog would not sleep on the bed, buyers aware if your fur child sleeps with you, you are expected to force them to sleep on the ground here.
Gravity Haus Truckee design is gorgeous! The layout is also very smart and easy to get around. The breakfast I had at Stella's was very good, excellent crispiness and quality all around!

The bed wasn't right for me. I woke up with a sore back all 3 mornings. Although we loved sitting out on our balcony.
The location is perfect. It's just far enough away from the center of old town, and close enough to make it there within a few minutes. It's quiet and staff were awesome and friendly.

Signage was a little lacking. Almost drove by it the first time as it was twilight. Checkin/office was not well marked. I didn’t enjoy coffee in tea bag or flavor.
Large room. Very Clean. Very comfortable bed. Updated bathroom.

A car alam went off all night in the parking lot. If they asked for license plates at the front desk, they would have been able to tell the owner. Just an idea.
I stopped in to get a smoothie but their machine wasn't working. No big deal as life is never perfect.

Very friendly staff! Quick stay the room was clean and quiet. I wish we could have stayed longer to dine at Stella’s restaurant and use the fitness center and hot tub.

There was no elevator and no microwave.
It felt homey, so clean, rustic on the outside but contemporary on the inside. I love that combination! The place was close to downtown Truckee, very pleasant staff, drinks served in the lobby were great and the restaurant Stella is in the vicinity. We truly enjoyed the amazing dishes it serves!

Balcony had no privacy, outdoor light shined through the drapes all night, restaurant had a very limited menu, restaurant required self-service coffee in the morning and did not have decaf coffee, and not close enough to Truckee downtown

No closet in the room nor any laundry bags. Odd given the high price. The shower got the floor very wet due to only 1/2 a shower door.
Nice lobby and rooms. We enjoyed the hot tub a lot! Good coffee in the rooms.

Nothing we didn't like about our stay. We had to cut our stay short because my brother broke his collar bone snowboarding (yikes!). I can't wait to go back...in Summer.
