Felt dirty once I walked in. Bed sheets were stained. There was no hot water for showers. I wasn’t given any instructions on check out process.

Mattress probably was retired long time ago, but still in use. Our apartment was super outdated, functional to some degree, That squeaky mattress was really annoying. You need to fight with the front door make it open or close ... but still functional.

The room was dirty, all rooms have same entry code, one t.v channel, Wi-Fi did not work, cleaning staff didn’t know English. A single tall was given for the room.

There is an old tree that drops some berries by the stairs and the maintenance is not well kept and my friend stepped on the berries going down the stairs and slip and dangled on the side of the rail to dear life obtaining some bruises, it was a scary experience for her.

The receptionist was so pleasant and staff accommodated when I needed kitchen items for breakfast making.

The property had garbage all over the place in the common areas, and in the parking lot. the owner was having a rather loud argument with someone who apparently walked into the wrong room because everything works with key codes so they gave someone the wrong key code to a room that was occupied, and they walked into a occupied room. This was going on at 11:30 at night. my bathroom smelled very humid.

The staff are clowns. They don't know what they are doing: gave me the code to go in a room that was already occupied!! I walked in on a man laying on the bed. I had to beg for extra towels. This place is a joke. The amount of dust that was on the ceiling fan, must have been years worth. I can go on and on but I don't want to remember how unpleasant my experience was. They wouldn't let my daughter use their restroom. They charge you for parking: don't provide a paper or tag or anything

I like the location of the hotel and the fact that they have a full small kitchen.

Location, location, location!! It's difficult to not be happy when you are staying this close to one of the most entertaining beaches! We love Hollywood Beach for the relaxing vibe and have stayed at different hotels on the beach many times, BUT the room and hotel was a bit questionable. The office staff was wonderful at checkin. They were very professional and had great customer service. We had booked a room that was supposed to sleep 5 people (2 queen beds and a sleeper sofa). Upon check-in, we were told that none of the rooms accommodated 5 people. The room that we were given was probably amazing in 1970 ;) There was a combined dining area/kitchen and sitting area (but the sleeper sofa was missing), as well as a separate bedroom with 2 full or queen beds and 2 full baths. When we drove from the office to the hotel (about a block and half away), we were very confused because the hotel did not look anything like the pics. We actually thought it was abandoned, and there was a ton of trash outside (including the sleeper sofa that we believe was supposed to be in our room, lol). Because we have stayed on Hollywood Beach more than 20 times in the past, we have learned that this amazing beach comes at the price of luxury. We were staying for one day only on our way to Columbia and didn't pay more than $300/night, so we knew we would be missing turn down service and a mint on our pillow at night so we never said a word about the oddities of the hotel. BUT at one point during our stay, we were(all 5 of us) sitting outside our room when we saw a group of staff in the courtyard below so we asked for sheets for the rollaway bed the staff had brought to accommodate our 5th person. A gentleman who identified himself as the owner counted how many of us were sitting in the chairs outside our room (5 people) and, very loudly, accused us of lying about the number of people on our booking.

The room is very old. That wasn’t really a problem for us because we saw the photos online and knew what we were getting. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable and had zero support. The absolute worst part was the parking. There is a tiny lot behind the building for about 8 cars. It was completely packed, so we had to find street parking, which was $100 per day! On top of that, when we finally did get an open spot in the lot, two people blocked us in and we nearly missed our flight back home. It was absolutely horrible. There is no staff on site to help. They have a building a couple blocks down at the Caroline that also runs the Charter House. No one was there the help. No security on site, nothing! We were narrowly able to get out after an hour of trying. I would NEVER recommend this place after that. What would this hotel have done if we missed our flight and couldn’t return our rental car? I highly doubt they would have reimbursed us for anything!

The staff was unaware that with Priceline booking (how this was booked) that you can pay in full well before your stay and insisted on charging eme again to which I am still awaiting refund. Staff was rude and there were roaches. Baby roaches and adults. The room had damage. The bed had stains.

I like that there were 2 locks on the door and that’s about it. Oh the shower did look nice but after the roaches we didn’t try.

Very bad experience. We did on a Wednesday a reservation for Friday and on Friday when we went in the office for check in they told us that they are full booked but they tried to call us. They tried to call an international number even they knew that they cannot call outside the country. I even asked them why they didn't send an email as they have the information from Booking. At the end they put the blame to booking.com. So never ever again on this charter house, even the location near the beach is good.

Upon arrival owner said we didn't have a reservation tho we had correspondence asking for 1st floor and a response guaranteeing since my mom is in a wheelchair, owner said that wasn't him that answered and Booking.Com couldn't guarantee a room. The only room that could accommodate was just rented for 3 months the day before. Dumpster was on wheels in parking lot and we had to move it in order to fit into parking space every time. The TV didn't work, maid didnt speak english and couldn't fix it. Asked maid for towels she said she had to do laundry and never came back. Owner had nothing good to say about Booking.Com and another customer with a reservation (Cindy)didn't have a room either. They did find us rooms but we couldn't be together, myself and daughter in one and my mom and sister in other.😥 Had to push my mom thru stones to get to room.
