Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The AC did could not get the room as cool as we would have liked for sleeping. The towels were very scratchy!

Was told it was one price for the whole stay, ended up being over a hundred dollars more because of destination fees. Another sad note, the shower never got that hot. It was thankfully tolerable but could’ve had a nicer warmer shower.
Location is close to AT&T park.

Everything was perfect! The staff were SUPER accomodating and the location was absolutely perfect. Super safe and close to everything we needed. The room was AMAZING! And the little touches to everything is what made us love our stay so much. The staff are so friendly. I will recommend to everyone!! THANK YOU

Could hear some noise from an event downtown outside on the Saturday evening. The other 3 nights of my stay were very quiet though.
Close to downtown attractions but not much noise from outside. Spacious room with good TV, included free Paramount streaming. Blackout curtains always a plus.

pricey, mainly. would like a sauna.
building was nice. courtyard is lovely in the right weather. cafe is convenient and decent quality. same with the restaurant. fitness room is modern and clean.

pay extra for parking cant keep car very long in garage once you check out

City view was promised, but it was a rather small part of the view. Also, there was quite a bit of noise from accelerating motorcycles on the street below.

I wasn’t keen on the buffet. Would have liked to see Bircher and a few healthier options available - and for the cost in particular which felt steep. Last time I came breakfast was by the menu and I’d have liked a choice

We loved everything about this hotel and thought we booked it for a fair rate on booking.com but after paying all fees, parking cost and taxes were added we thought it was too much. But we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in San Franscico!

Didn't have any bell boys to help with all our luggage, but overall enjoyed what the hotel had to offer.
Their beds are the best! Feels like you're sleeping on a cloud. Loved the design and vibe of the hotel as well.

Views are nothing special, but the amenities make up for it nicely. Parking for 80$ a day is sadly typical, but you can find it for half that on spothero app. Poor location if you want to be closer to nightlife and weekend activities. Most nearby restaurants cater to tech sector on M-F operations, closed weekends.
The hip decor and coffee shop were a plus. Plenty of places to work in the lobby and decent WiFi. Interesting fire pit tables in an interior courtyard for nightcaps and late night snacks and chatting. Very helpful staff and excellent security. Good location if you want to be away from the more touristy areas of SF but close to the MoMA.

Don't like extra service charges. The opportunity to redeem food and get cable car ride fare was nice, but a little confusing. Obviously prefer not to pay up front for things we may or may not use. Internet on our departure morning was not working.
Bed was comfortable, lots of comfortable public spaces in lobby to hang out. Coffee shop was good!
