It was an excellent stay for the family and dog. The owners were great.

Unsafe. Fireplace flame extinguished while I was drifting asleep. My minor son yelled “mom I smell gas” I jumped up and the flame was out. The GAS smell was STRONG. I reached over and hit the toggle button off, told my son to exit and leave door open. We stood outside in 30 deg weather. 9pm. No lights in neighbor due to dark sky rules. No shoes, no coats in fear of a spark or passing out. I explained to the host and he dismissed me and first. Then when he finally listened he wanted to send a man over to measure and my son, alone. I wish I had enough room to include details of him yelling at me and his wife sending me messages telling me I prob had altitude sickness (I live at a high altitude) and symptoms don’t disappear when you leave a room. Stay at your own risk. We drove 30 min to a hotel. Not worth mine or my kids life. Refused to refund. The next day they tested for a leak but it didn’t reveal. Regardless they wouldn’t listen to what I said lead up to the smell. If you choose to risk your safety dont use fireplace.
