Would be nice to have a microwave in the room but not a deal breaker. Coffee in the lobby would also be really nice.

Great location, easy to get everywhere. Great staff. Very clean. Great attention to detail.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Location convenient and the bar had great food.

That the parking lot was full. I'm a single traveler and love that the parking for this hotel is across the street and well lit.

This hotel's decor is beautiful. The beds are so comfortable and the pillows are heaven! I love that the parking lot is directly across the street however, it was full (due to a wedding) but the staff told me where to park and that was helpful.

No parking! When we got there the small hotel lot was full so we had to park on the street and move our car every few hours to avoid getting tickets. What type of hotel doesn’t have enough dedicated parking for their guests? We likely won’t be back, as this was a nuisance to say the least. Plenty of other hotels have adequate parking.

Great rooftop bar and very nice modern rooms and amenities.

The shower didn't operate properly. We got water from the handheld spray but not from the mounted overhead. There were no batteries in the mirror to make it light up. The bidet didn't live up to our expectations (it was our first use of a bidet).

Breakfast was huge. My one egg must have come from an ostrich! Maintenance was quick to replace our nonfunctioning remote with one that worked.

Only problem was the bar downstairs was not open and the Sky Bar was only open from 5 till 10 pm. I would have liked to have a night cap up there after the concert but I do realize it was a Tuesday night.

Beautiful and classy hotel. I love all the art work. I was disappointed that the downstairs bar and restaurant were not open. However, we had fun up at the Sky Bar and the breakfast was very good. It is a treat to stay here.

    See above

This is what I did not like - The bar downstairs was never open. Breakfast was non existent and the roof top bar was closed the first night and did not open til 3 pm the next day. And mind you, we sat on the deck at exactly 2:45 and they would not serve us until 3:10. I wanted a more all inclusive experience as I was traveling alone. Very disappointing for the price of the rooms.

I am anxiously waiting for their downstairs lobby bar to open up again. I was late getting there and didn't make it to the Roof Top in time and I would have LOVED to have a glass of wine in the beautiful lobby! When will it be open again?? -It's great just to sit and people watch! I miss it!!

The location of this Hotel (and the Blackhawk) are great! I especially like that I can park directly across the street and just walk over to the hotel. Because I travel alone (with a small dog) and I"m female, this is very important as sometimes I arrive after dark. I always feel safe here at the Iowa Current.

This was my third stay at The Current. The facility has steadily gone downhill since my first stay. Fixtures, linens, the property itself looks rough around the edges. Some staff were rude.

Our room was super small for the $300 we spent, and when we opened up our curtain, we were very disappointed to see a huge ventilation system right outside our window;not the view we were expecting.

Located within walking distance to many places.

there was some kind of event at the rooftop bar so that (a) hotel guests were not allowed to see the supposedly great view and (b) the hotel parking lot was totally filled. of course, i didn't get any discount on the room price. the room was nice: modern and clean. but it looked out onto a small court and then into a tall building, so there was no nice view. also, very few restaurants in the downtown area were open because of covid, and those that were had long wait times. i did manage to find a thai/asian restaurant where i had a very nice ramen. the hotel is located just a few blocks from the mississipi, and a skywalk that allows a view. this was nice.

i had to leave early so i couldn't try it out
