Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaWe shared a very small bathroom with another couple. They didn't know they had to unlock our door when they were done, so we had to knock on their door to get our side unlocked. There were no towels or enough shampoo supplies. We had to go downstairs to get towels. The shower was small and the bath mat in the shower felt gross to step on right after the other couple had showered. I don't think we would have stayed there if we had known we had to share a bathroom.
Cute, cozy old funky place with lots of character. Coffee bar in the main room was nice in the morning.

United States of AmericaWe received an email through booking.com from the owner that we would have a Jack & Jill Bath situation in which we were sharing the bathroom with the room next to us. When we arrived, the door to the bathroom was locked from the inside. We knocked on the door itself, knocked on the neighbors front door, called and texted the owner with no response from anyone. There were 2 house bathrooms just down the hallway and they were very clean. We did not shower in the morning just because we were not comfortable using the house bathroom (personal preference). We sent an email after our stay to the owner and still have not received any response.
The room was cozy and charming. The beds and sheets were very comfortable. The room was clean and spacious.

United States of AmericaDidn't meet the owner. We got in late but our key/room was ready. Didn't realize a "shared" bathroom meant with the entire hotel.
Beds were comfortable. Was only there from 10 pm til 7 am. It is a cute, quaint old timey hotel.

SwitzerlandPlease be warned to book this hotel. There will be nobody to grant you excess to a room nor will a key be deposited. The phone will only lead you to an answering machine and you won't be called back. I had to find me a different hotel for the night I booked. No further comment.

United States of AmericaThere was no AC in the room so we had to open the windows for air. Which is fine , but the noise from the trucks going up and down the highway was very loud in the middle of the night.
The authenticity of the building was just wonderful. From the creaking floors and stairs to the coziness of the room.

United States of AmericaThe wall in the shower was loose and water came out all over the bathroom floor. Did I mention that there was no shower head. And everything in the room was on extension cords that hooked into other extension cords and seemingly into one outlet. That outlet turned everything off when you used the light switch, including anything you were charging. I’m not sure how it passes fire safety code.
There was a bed and a shower.

United States of AmericaThe rooms are all unique. Our initial room had no bathroom, microwave, fridge - the shared bath was down the hall. I remember booking these features. Bathroom 115? has a step-up. Put a towel on it so we would stop tripping. The shower has a trip-point too. Bed against wall difficult for 2 people. Hall lights were on all night, window would not open much and we were very hot. Opened the door, turned off the lights. Waste of electricity - use motion night lights? No curtain. Had to use a towel to keep out street lights.
Interior courtyard has a hose, tables, and bike parking. Lobby has coffee, sink, microwave. Seating.
