Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe coffeemaker is not the best at making its java. Perhaps mini keurigs, or a kettle with instant coffee would work much better. They do have an option of breakfast, which we didn't use, so that may work for other guests better. Also a really good coffee store was just around the corner from the lobby, so that helped! :-)
The staff at The Fifty Sonesta were all welcoming and friendly, in a down to earth manner. Consistency on all staff is a rare thing but the Fifty team was on. The room was very spacious, including the bathroom and extra space for a desk and a lounge like chair. Also, considering it is NYC, the snacks on the reception were fairly priced!

IrelandParts of the room were a little dated and the carpets could do with a clean but nothing that ruined our visit.
The location was very central, close to subway but also walking distance to all Midtown. The rooms were really big for New York standards. All staff we met were very friendly and welcoming. Ice machine on 4th floor. Kitchen was a huge benefit for our family of 5, fridge for drinks, kettle/coffee machine.

The staff was wonderful! Both Romeo and Sammy were very helpful in assisting us in navigating throughout the city. The room was very clean and spacious. The location was about 7 blocks from Times Square, great scenic walk to Times Square. We would definitely stay here again!

TurkeyWe stayed 7 nights. The first night we had to stay at a room which was not nice. They said there was not available room and they moved us to our original room one day later. This is understandable but I shouldn’t have paid the same price for the first night.
Location was perfect. Great attractions nearby. Different metro lines are around for easy transportation. Hotel is compact and easy to enter, exit. Room was spacious for a NYC hotel.

United States of AmericaConference room is only open until midnight, and the lobby is small, so there isn't a big area to hang out with friends we were staying with at the Fifty. Tubs are slow to drain. Wall paper in bathroom needs updating. No pool.
The staff is amazing!!! Nice decorations in the lobby. 10 dollars of snacks daily when you book. Pet friendly. Great location! Reasonable price for stay. Free cucumber water in lobby.

United KingdomBreakfast room was awful - only one proper table to eat at, very, very limited selection and was heated like a sauna. The whole downstairs for a voucher that you then take upstairs an hand in on a daily basis was also extremely frustrating
Staff were eminently helpful and reassuring Cleaning was fantastic Location was great - walking distance of a lot of the big ticket items and easy subway access

United States of AmericaBreakfast was included but the eggs looked overcooked and there were no meat options. At almost $1000/night after all the “taxes” were added on, I feel it was too expensive.
Doormen/porters were very friendly and attentive. The beds were comfortable. Mini fridge and microwave good. Location is great, but unfortunately there was construction going on due to a broken gas or water line in street.

United States of AmericaEven though the reservation indicated five people, the room was only stocked for two people. We had to ask for more towels, add additional dishware, soap, etc. also, the battery on the safe was low and the shower was not hot because it had a broken diverter. The last item was not able to be fixed during our trip. Some of us had to take luke warm and cold showers because the shower was broken.
Great location, fantastic, response of service. David in particular was really terrific.

United States of AmericaLike any hotel in NYC, it is pricey but decent value when traveling with family. Resort fees add up which hurts when you don't use the amenities.
This is our go-to hotel when traveling to NYC with our family. The rooms are spacious, beds are comfy and the staff is pleasant. It is the perfect location for visiting midtown attractions and close to several subway lines when you want to explore other areas.
