Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThey charged me for parking.. I don't think they did that before. No gym.. I know.. boutique hotel.. but a small fitness center for guest would be nice.. they offer discount a local gym - weather was good so a jog around the campus was an option this time.
I have a daughter at Case Western Reserve University - you cannot beat this location for visiting the University and walking around the museums. My room was spacious, had a nice desk, a cushioned bench and lounge chair. The staff is so nice and you can tell the hotel is fastidious about keeping the place clean - Breakfast was nice with eggs and sausage, pastries, oatmeal/cereal and yogurt. They have a small bar and lovely patio - This is my third time coming to this hotel - it is not the cheapest around but it is worth it. I highly recommend this lovely hotel.

United States of AmericaThe building needs a slight freshening. There are small gaps between wall and molding, bare mounts for removed room thermostats, windows that could have been cleaner.
Breakfast is one of the reasons why we stay at Glidden House. It is not quite up to pre pandemic standards of freshness but it is still very good.

United States of AmericaNo business centre with internet computers and printer. Had to pay for parking. No swimming pool.
Great buffet breakfast and unlimited coffee!!!!! Love the old mansion and the fact it belonged to a prominent family whose company still exists. A lush setting within walking distance to museums, entertainment, dining options of Little Italy, No need to use a car!!!

United States of AmericaFluffy comforter on bed would be an improvement. Bed coverings are somewhat thin. Also the lobby next to the bar was recently re arranged and is no longer inviting.
The staff is exceptional. They go above and beyond to make you feel at home

United States of AmericaI liked everything about Glidden House.
The breakfast was great. The staff members, as mentioned, were also so pleasant. I really loved the look of the Glidden House building, both interior and exterior (beautiful carpets, drapes, furniture and wooden beams, solarium for breakfast and cozy bar). Just an amazing place that I have already recommended to friends. I loved the view from the (we were on the front side). The location was perfect, near so many cultural attractions. Although we were originally coming only for the day (we were coming for my wife's follow up visit to the Cleveland Clinic), we decided to make a weekend of it and hit the Cleveland Art Museum on Saturday (and I hit the Final Four on Friday(!). It was such a much grander experience than staying at big brand cookie-cutter hotels. Just perfect. Thank you for a wonderful stay, I wish we could come more often.

United States of Americaparking was tight in the parking lot (and it costs to park there)
The location was perfect, close to the art museums and botanical garden. The room and public areas were comfortable and clean. Having hot water for tea and coffee available at all times was great since it was a little chilly when we visited. They served an amazing breakfast. It was a nice neighborhood to walk around in and was easy to navigate by car.

United States of AmericaThe bar lobby was redone recently and is not so cozy any more. Used to have small conversation groupings now it is just benches. Also the rooms are not soundproof so you hear everything surrounding you.
Love the 1940s ambiance. Like a private home. Very nice breakfast in beautiful breakfast room with a fireplace.

United States of AmericaThe breakfast has declined. There is no fresh fruit. The fruit is a cocktail mix that is sold in bulk with preservatives. There is no milk. The breakfast was superior years ago. The noise (off back parking lot) on Saturday night due to a fraternity party was annoying, ask for a front facing room. Some of the wait staff seem unhappy and are slamming things down such as mugs. The bed linens are cheap. There is no warm blanket or comforter. The overall place seems to have cut corners.
I have stayed before. It is charming. Good location for museums, CWRU.

United States of AmericaThere just isn't a better location - really. Walk over to L'albetrose for dinner! Walk across the street to the Botanical Gardens. Walk around Wade Oval to the art museum, the natural history museum, and the Western Reserve Historical Society which contains the Crawford Auto Museum. Walk down the street to Severence Hall. I could go on - really....

United States of AmericaThe bar drinks are horrifically overpriced. $95 for 4 mixed drinks and a shot. No microwaves in the rooms or at least the room I had. You have to use the microwave on the second floor.
I liked the overall vibe of the hotal. The room was clean, comfortable bed but lacked a microwave in the room. The breakfast was actually good and not just your "cookie cutter" continental basic hotal breakfast. It was actually good food.

United States of AmericaI would have liked a thicker comforter on the bed and the vinyl floor at the entryway of the room was very slick. I slipped a few times.
The breakfast was nice although the eggs were a little under cooked. The room was very nice. Comfortable, good size. The location was perfect for everything I came to do (Severance Hall, Art Museum, Restaurants).

United States of AmericaThe area by the elevators smelled like someone had been smoking. I mentioned to the check-in host that this was our first time in the area but she did not offer any suggestions for dinner or provide a map of the area. I thought this information may be in the room but there was nothing in the room or the lobby.
The property is central to the Case Western campus and several museums; walking around the area was easy and we felt safe. The breakfast was very good. The room was comfortable and clean.
