Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

RomaniaI find the fact that there is no hotel lobby and no lounge area not so nice because there were many times when we would have loved to lounge a bit in the hotel. There is a cafe and bar instead of the hotel lobby and it was always 80% full of people from outside the hotel working on their laptops and using the space for this:( I did not like the lack of attention to details of the cleaning person because most of the days she/he forgot to put coffee or tea in our room and we had to ask for it. Also it is very annoying to ask every time you want your room cleaned, especially that we stayed 20 days in the room and we had to ask this every day.
The location was amazing, great cafes and restaurants around, very hip and cool neighbourhood and very close to the metro station. The neighbourhood was a breath of fresh air after coming from Manhattan :) The hotel's design is also great, the room itself also has a beautiful interior design. The bed was very comfortable and the amenities, like the air steamer in the room were very good. We had the Manhattan view from our room and it was 1000% worth it waking up and going to be to it. All in all we had an amazing time at this hotel <3

United KingdomThe only thing to note is that a lot of non-guests seem to use the lobby area / cafe for working so we sometimes struggled to get a seat because it was so busy. Also it would be good to have breakfast option included in the stay. It would also be good for the restaurant upstairs to reserve a couple of tables for guests.
Really great location, right in the centre of Williamsburg. Short walk from the subway to get to Manhattan. Room was surprisingly roomy and beds were super comfy. Lovely decor. Staff was really friendly and helpful.

United KingdomWe didn’t like the fact that during our 8 nights stay housekeeping only cleaned our room once therefore we had to ask on multiple occasions for fresh towels etc. the main thing that let this stay down is that we had some items which went missing from our room, this was mentioned on 2 occasions to staff at the hotel with no resolution. We have since emailed the hotel multiple times regarding our items and are yet to receive a response therefore I would be wary about your belongings as they could be taken from your room. Such a shame this let down our stay as everything else was great.
We really loved the vibe of this hotel and the rooms were a great size with a lovely view of the manhattan skyline and super comfortable beds.

United KingdomPipes made loud noise, woke us up every morning. Wasn’t able to go up to rooftop bar (tried 3 times) and struggled for seat in bar. Surprised and very disappointed paying guests were not given priority, given cost of staying. Most reception staff helpful and lovely, but one thought he was a comedian and tried to take the micky out of English people as soon as we got there. Wouldn’t mind but wasn’t funny!

United KingdomThe room is quite small - we had big suitcases as we were travelling to a few places and there wasn’t really anywhere to put them, although this was a very minor drawback. In other Hoxton’s we’ve stayed in, there has been a guest only bar and staff were always very accommodating to try and find you a table. We tried every day to go to the rooftop bar Lazer Wolf and every day staff were very lukewarm in trying to help us get a table (it felt like they were just deciding if you looked cool enough to go in rather than whether they actually had a table), and so we didn’t manage to get into the bar. We could have booked ahead of time even on the same day but wanted to be fluid with our plans, so if you are really keen to go, I’d recommend booking a table vs relying on staff to help you.
The hotel is in a great location in Williamsburg, the bed was super comfy with lovely linen, and the view from the room was awesome. Everything was really stylishly decorated, the shower was great, and the bath products were lovely too.

There is nowhere for guests to lounge / sit in the main lounge area and bar as it’s taken up by people on their laptops all day. No priority given to guests.

United KingdomThe lobby would be full of people on their laptops so it didn't feel like it was just for the hotel guests. The shower would flood the bathroom floor not a big thing but something that needs seeing to.
Loved the location so close to everything in the local area, the train to manhattan was 5 minutes walk. The lobby was a vibe lots of plants and earthy tones!! In the evening they dimmed the lights and put candles out so it was so chilled. The room was cosy plenty room for myself and the bed was so comfortable! The view was lovely the manhattan skyline is just amazing to look at during sunrise and even more vivid at night.

United KingdomLocation was great. Easy to get the Subway (L line) and also a short walk from the North Williamsburg Ferry port which was a fab way to travel over to Manhatten and is very easy to buy tickets through the NYFerry app. We also loved all the great bars and restaurants in the area and highly recommend a trip to Brooklyn Brewery which is 2 blocks away. Bed was nice and big and super comfy and we like the inclusion of books and a Bluetooth speaker in the room. Staff were all lovely and very helpful. We had a Brooklyn View room and i have attached a picture of the sunrise from this room which was on the 8th floor.

AustraliaThe downstairs lounge/bar area was always really busy with people working from their laptops since it was open to the general public, as a guest we could never actually find a spot there.
Room was small but bigger than hotels I’ve stayed at in Manhattan and a lot more comfortable. The bed was huge and super comfortable. The room had a good view of the Manhattan skyline.
