Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaSaturday Night was a party atmosphere! The choice of music at the outdoor patio was not what we would have expected for this type of property - DJ playing Hip Hop Electronic music. We did enjoy drinks at the bar inside but were disappointed that we couldn't enjoy the patio. We expected the 1901 Lounge to be open until 11 pm and were fine with that but our sleep was interrupted multiple times on Saturday night as many of the guests in the hotel were partying until 3 am. Guests in our hotel came and went in the early morning hours slamming doors and laughing and yelling. Neville's Bar is next door in the basement of the Pizza restaurant and it was open until 2 am and there was lots of noise from there. The train came through twice during the night also but that was tolerable compared to the other noise.
Convenient Location walking distance to shops, restaurants and the Southern Pines Brewery. Spacious room and loved the double shower heads!

United States of AmericaI tried to book directly but did not get a call back. Went through Booking.com and they sent check-in instructions at check out time a few days later. I extended another night and received email directly from Carolina Experience immediately.
The Jefferson Inn is lovely and in a great location.

United States of AmericaI didn’t know until after booking this is basically an air bnb. There are no onsite amenities (food, front desk…). It is very hard to find parking, as they don’t have their own lot.
The room was very comfortable.

United States of AmericaWith it being an older building plugs were a bit limited. They added a 6 plug adapter to help address this but they could have also had a wall mirror in that same area of our room to make it easier to fix hair, etc while partner was in the bathroom. One overhead light didn't come on - maybe bulb was burnt out?
The room was very clean and had been recently updated. The shower was large and nice. The bed was comfortable. Great location - easy to walk to restaurants. Found parking nearby.

United States of AmericaJefferson Inn use to have a great little bar that was amazing during the stays. This time it was all shut down. I think that is a poor choice as everyone I know enjoyed the atmosphere of the little bar that was accessible during the stays.
The rooms were as usual up to par and very clean. The beds were staff and the new ease of use with door codes is fantastic.

United States of AmericaSelf service checkin is AirBnB style with no reception desk, pay attention to welcome emails for access codes and Booking does not pass them your payment details so you have to do 2nd payment step to get room access code. Nice Keurig in the room, but a 6oz double espresso cup for making 8, 10 or 12oz coffee a bit wrong! If you’re a light sleeper the hotel is 100 yards from then train track where freight rumbles through with horns at the many crossings all night. Also there’s a bar next door which runs loudly till 2am and then puts out the glass trash after close.
Convenient for town bars and restaurants Comfy room and bathroom with quality touches throughout from great TV for streaming and heated well lit mirror in bathroom.

United States of AmericaIt’s more of an Airbnb. There is no receptionist, no ice machine, and our room had a bed, 2 nightstands, and a small frig…and 2 luggage racks, but no place to put anything. The bathroom was clean but again, no space to put anything to make it convenient to shave or put on makeup. It may be better in another year but right now it felt a little unfinished. The owner and the housekeeper were pleasant but I would have preferred a little more human connection. We spoke to another guest who was surprised to know they weren’t the only people staying there. It was rather strange. We had to ask for clean towels, etc…they were provided immediately but it was just strange to have to ask for things you expect to be provided.
Clean, convenient location. When we finally spoke to the housekeeper she was pleasant and helpful. We also spoke to one of the owners … nice gentleman.

United States of AmericaI didnt see any other guests or staff. Unoccupied rooms were left open and unlocked. No lights on the back of property at night. I did not see anyone on the property during my stay..keypads for entry dont guarantee a locked door. Felt like i took a dare to stay in an empty hotel.
Room was very clean and comfortable. Im glad the locks worked. The room was great..the otherwise empty building was strange.

United States of AmericaThere was a shabbiness to the sofa, furniture in our suite. The shower head didn't have sufficient flow. Outdated lighting made the sitting room dark in our suite. With the bar and restaurant closed, we were not able to have an after dinner drink. It was obviously in need of an upgrade in the kitchen, dining room.
When the 1st room didn't have 2 nightstands, we were moved to a suite at no extra charge. The bed was very comfortable. The lobby was festive in appearance. The staff was helpful. Location couldn't have been more convenient to our walk to our restaurant choice and shopping.

United States of Americabooking online wasn't easy to find location and pricing so I ended up using a third party. my mother even tried to stay with you guys a few day earlier but couldn't get it to work. When she called in to book she was told its online only. Also our room was very hot 77 but didn't realize it until the middle of the night. Lucky there was a fan in the room.
I've stayed at the jefferson several time over the past 7 years. love the location and the staff but it seems the new booking system need works.
