Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandNew hotel, great rooms, great location, awesome staff, great coffee Boarders on tenderloin district, so if you’re sensitive to rough neighbourhoods, this might not be the place for you. We however loved everything about it.

United States of AmericaThis is one of many hotels trying to impose a 'services charge" on top of the room rate. This is a scam and guests should refuse to pay it as I did. Wi-fi and water should be included in the price of the room, and, if someone wants to rent a bicycle they should pay separately for that. Also the breakfast croissants were soggy--unforgiveable in a city with first-class bakeries. And this block of Turk Street is scruffy
Stylish modern design, exceptionally well-organized room, helpful receptionists. Bed remade promptly , replacing duvet with blanket

United States of AmericaWalking at night in that area is a bit uncomfortable to do. It appears to be a gathering place for homeless people. The matresses are very soft. For someone with back issues it could cause a sleepless night.(s) and back pain. Otherwise the room was comfortable, quiet and full of light, and clean. Spacious bathroom.
A Central location in walking distance to down Town. (20 minutes)

FranceLocation, too close to the Tenderloin and drug addicts. Housekeeping service was inconsistent. Some days they would replenish my coffee and some days not. I ran out of coffee and had to call reception to get more. My room service dirty dishes never got taken out. I checked out and they were still there.

United KingdomOver the road from the hotel are some very interesting characters shall we say. The TV keeps losing signal. You can only sit on the roof terrace from 4pm, so if you want to relax in the sun you can’t.
Very good rooms, clean fresh. Nice gym too.

FranceThe front desk staff were a bit rude, didn't seem to want to look up from their phones. No one to help with bags. Also the room wasn't 100% clean - the couch was stained and there were sticky smudges on the tables.
Really beautifully designed hotel, great views, nice amenities. The view from the room was spectacular.

United States of AmericaDespite the location itself being conveniently located and the building being beautiful, just across the street is extremely run-down, with homeless and vagrants roaming, and the tart smell of urine in the air. We awoke the next morning to the sound of people fighting in the street and bashing car windows in on a Sunday morning. But that’s just the paradise of San Francisco these days.
Staff was amazing from front desk to the events coordinator Sydney. Modern/retro art and decor is on point. They brought back the mini-bar! Rise over Run rooftop restaurant/bar is great. We were upgraded to a suite, which was FANTASTIC. 5 minute walk to the closest Bart portal on Powell st and about 20 minutes walk down to the Embarcadero.

United States of AmericaLocation is awful. Didn't realize the hotel was in the Tenderloin district of SF, which is somewhat my fault. However, I felt the price of my room should've been less expensive considering the location. Once you're inside the hotel though it's like being in a different world. They also have plenty of security nearby. I just recommend Ubering in and out of the area.
Nice rooms and amenities. The entire hotel was very clean. Restaurant staff was great and so were the food and drinks. The rooftop views were nice too.

AustraliaLocation of this hotel is horrible. For the price we payed and where the location of the hotel is was really disappointing. once inside the hotel you felt safe. But the streets that this hotel is located is not ideal. I wouldn't recommend staying in this area at all - which is a Shame because the hotel itself is nice.
The hotel itself was gorgeous. Aesthetically it was a nice hotel and the amenities were nice as well. Cleanliness of the room was great and the shower was amazing. Coffee shop in the bottom of hotel was amazing and also has a beautiful rooftop bar! Staff were always polite. Close to union square.

United States of AmericaI thought the homeless people outside the window was very sad and depressing. I felt sorry for them doing their laundry in the gutter and picking cigarette butts. I can’t believe beautiful people have to live like that. I wish I could have helped them.
The restaurant at night was too crowded and loud to eat in. It was obvious though that many other guests were enjoying their food.
